So i've been looking for new motherboard models and it's been pretty hard to find anything, H81 gone, H97 gone, TB85 gone (yes there are some of these here and there, overpriced AF tho), so what are you guys buying nowdays?

I'm planning on making a new purchase but i haven't seen any Intel/AMD socket mobo with 5 PCIE 1x.   Huh BTCBTCBTCBTC

I can recommend AMD socket because it has better performance with graphics and it really compatible with any video card which is recommended for the chipset. AMD motherboard is compatible with any with intel or amd graphics videocard like nvidia or ati chipset, it helps your processor runs smoothly for grahics and even data loading of your pc its has an awesome performance.

Well,  for Intel platform you can try ASUS X99-E WS (not so cheap) and also ASRock X99 OC Formula, ASRock Fatal1ty X99 Professional..

The question is if it supports to boot with 7 gpus..
I have a EVGA X99 FTWK it has 5x PCIe 3.0 8x support and also a PCIe 2.0 2x slot but I can't get it to work with a 6th card yet..someone told me about a bios trick I will test it later.

GTX 1080Ti rocks da house... seriously... this card is a beast³

I'd go with the Asus H81M Plus. Its got only 4 PCI-E slots but is very cheap and the ratios building rigs with 4 GPUs are much better.
Cheap CPU, 2 cheap PSUs, 4 RX480 Nitro 4GB GPUs.

Don't forget the new AMD CPU comes out Zen line it should help with Ggpu mining

http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/zen-cpu?utm_campaign=www.amd.com_zen&utm_medium=redirect&utm_source=301&gclid=Cj0KEQjwhvbABRDOp4rahNjh-tMBEiQA0QgTGu_R_NBQ1STyfPRP8mnFAynZy1- DO NOT POST SESC LINKS nf73lUaAosa8P8HAQ#

I think it's there first one at any thing lower then 32 mn in while beside the APU that's at 28 i think. if it does what they say CPU miners will love it .

The Z170 boards are not too good for mining.. max 4 cards.. they have memory lane limitations.

Here's a good Youtube vid about the best mining motherboards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS44TmuKUQE

And here's one about running 7 GPU cards on a single motherboard.

First for AMD but not first period - Intel Skylark series is 14 or 16 nm.

I also don't see the new AMD CPUs helping on GPU mining at all, though they might get competative with recent Intel CPUs on CPU mining.

I would recommend a Biostar TB85 with 1 PCI-Ex16 + 5 PCI-Ex1 (6SATA onboard) but it's very rare.

Intel is ending production soon of the 1150 socket CPUs with current 5 week lead times for any new production of the Celeron Chips.  Production should end in the front end of the first quarter  2017 and mining motherboards on the 1150 socket shortly there after.

Current channel info says Asrock will be launching an 1151 mining motherboard soon to replace the H97 Anniversary and the Probtc motherboards for mining.  In the mean time we are in a bit of a draught with motherboards.  I can still get bulk quantities the pro BTC produced with a proper sized order and Celerons.

In my rig work 4X RX 480, in this motherboard. In the near future I will try to 5 or more. But most likely will need a PCIE switch.

2 cheap psu's? You could get a nice 800-850w for the whole system.
