Merkel has never said that she will close the borders. Already 1.5 million immigrants have made their way to the European Union. Many millions more are planning to take the journey in the coming months. And if the NATO ships are there in the Mediterranean, then they will be used to rescue these immigrants, rather than using to deporting them.

I think that Sweden people must do something. They won't celebrate Christmas because that makes the refugees angry and that will be racist. Syrians had proved that they can fight their country instead of running away ( and most specific in young age men) like girls. They have to defend their country, their homes, act like mens. Can’t understand wh people in Sweden and other european countries stay silent,not doing anything to pay government’s attention.They should march in all cities,making pressure on government to change policy on migrants and make them close the border for them.And let only women and children come in,men should stay and fight for the homeland,what the hell they are running away

This is alarming and the authorities need to do everything they can to prevent this from happening. For me, it will start in every household first. Educating our family about preventing sexual harassment won't cause any harm. To know what needs to be done in a certain situation is something that the family need to discuss. Its better to be prepared. Encourage everyone to speak their thoughts, there are a lot of unreported sexual harassment so the number should increase. Let's be cautious.

It's interesting that nobody dug deeper into the numbers here. Some people were implying that the stats may be off. Whether or not the numbers are accurate, you bring up a good point. In some countries even rape is rarely reported. Your statistic about 99% is impossible to establish. How can you calculate how many rapes are never reported? They are never reported! It's very difficult to compare sexual assault statistics between countries. One country may could some verbal assault as sexual assault. Another country could report that they have 0 rapes in a year, but that may just mean that people are scared to report them.
