Even the site names will probably stay mobile, in the long run...stay one step ahead of the Big Bad Wolf that way?

Need a listing site.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I am not sure the Bitcoin forum is the best place to ask about the Silk Road.  The Bitcoin community does not endorse illegal activity in US or Japan.  You better look for this kind of information on one of Tor hidden site listings .

You're right: everybody was talking about it, so it's kind of interesting to me, but there are more appropriate places probably.  Smiley

Why not? Silk Road first advertized here. Silk Road accept only bitcoins. This is a fine place to ask about it.

The Bitcoin community does not endorse illegal activity in US or Japan.
I'm part of the bitcoin community, and I endorse illegal activity.

You are troll! You are not part of the bitcoin community yet, to be a part of it, you need to become a developer and contribute to one of the clients or truly promote bitcoins.  Perhaps you are that senator from the USA,  what was his name again?

Frankly, I am not against drugs and online drug trade, Silk Road could just as well use paper dollars or barter, the fact that they also use bitcoins means nothing.  But promotion of illegal activities in US or Japan is not the place on this forum, unless they pertain directly to bitcoin should such laws appear in the future.

I are part of the bitcoin community. I use bitcoin. I post on the bitcoin forums, so... I'm in! Smiley

You should have said the "bitcoin developer community" if that's what you meant. And what makes you assume that I don't truly promote bitcoins under another moniker?

Are you talking about Chucky Schumer?

Frankly, I am not against drugs and online drug trade, Silk Road could just as well use paper dollars or barter, the fact that they also use bitcoins means nothing.
Not exactly because that would be a security risk for SR participants. It has to be bitcoin to make it safer.

But promotion of illegal activities in US or Japan is not the place on this forum, unless they pertain directly to bitcoin should such laws appear in the future.
I guess I could agree with that in part. But isn't there a Chinese students forum here? There's probably some very illegal activity promotions going on seeing as bitcoin is reportedly banned in China. But that's alright because it's not the US or Japan, right? Promotion of illegal activity in China is OK?

Illegal activity is not necessarily a real crime.

bitcoins are the future, and they are a strong libertarian notion, that we should be free of government interference in our lives.  The truth is, Silk Road and underground economies are the best chance bitcoins have of getting bigger...if the black market takes to bitcoins, the way SilkRoaders did, this will ensure the survival and importance of bitcoins.  A subculture that uses bitcoins exclusively will, of course, will be seen as a serious threat to any established government.  Should be an interesting year.

I don't think talking about Silk Road is illegal anywhere. And I don't think you can speak for the whole community.
