registered so I could throw out this link for some SMF specific performance enhancements, then forgot that I couldn't post in Meta cause the new newbs rule, so I'm posting it here...

some of these may help, but I imagine the bottleneck is probably closer to bare metal than the forum software

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I just figured the was a backup or something else running in the background. I have no idea what the server specs/setup is so that's my best guess.
