In my mind, signature campaign is an easy way to get started and earn some coins, but most campaigns are only open to high ranked users. some campaigns however, do accept newbies, like me. and i have noticed that most of those campaigns are about a new altcoin, and pays in that certain type of altcoin, which requires me to get a wallet of theirs. Any thoughts on whether its a good idea to participate in those campaigns or potential riskes?

You might earn some pocket change by participating in an altcoin sigcampaign as a newbie member... The risks are:
1) the altcoin you receive turns out to be worthless
2) the OP doesn't pay up
3) the altcoin ends up to be a scamcoin

But... If the altcoin turns out to be a success, you might earn a couple satoshi's worth of altcoin, which can be exchanged for BTC or you can hodl it in the hope the price rises even further...

It's basically a gamble... If you do your homework right it might be an educated guess instead of a pure gamble... In the end there is a 99.9% probability you made less money by participating in the campaign than you would have made working at Mcdonalds... Sad but true...

If you are posting for fun instead of profit, i'd say there is little or no harm in trying.

As newbie your only choose is altcoins, because majority of altcoins also include newbies.
and about being profitable,we cannot tell if the coin will hit big in the market or not
Just pick the best coin that you think worth your time and effort.

It's a good idea to joined if you really want to joined. But your main point here is to learn since at your rank you can only get a cheap reward. But that cheap reward can turned into a decent one if ever those alts will bloom in terms of price.

As far as you know how altcoin life works, you can literally noticed if the coin will become a success even for a pump and dump scenario. About the own wallet of theirs, well sometimes it's really needed and you have to deal with it since it's part of the rules.

The only potential risk is that you lose time which can be annoying. You should look at skeletoncoin any rank can join and it is suppose to be an android gaming currency. If that happens it will be great. Otherwise it is just another failed shitcoin.

Get your another possible activity, reach more level and try for joining with them, good or not depending on the end of the campaign and dev and you need be careful about choosing the best one. I don't wanna for suggesting like an essay but the point is the risk assignment is always there.

Even in altcoin signature campaigns you must be at higher rank, unless some campaigns which give very small amounts, and most of the campaigns that accept newbies are shit coins, I mean the price might drop suddenly and your reward will become small, therefore I recommend you wait until reaching higher rank.

If the project is good like what i am right now, then it's worth your time,I don't know of any risk involve in getting in the campaign but you can spare yourself of lost time if you do a research in finding the right altcoin signature campaign to join ..

The only down side if signature campaign is the lost time, project like Postbase, Opair, Decloud all run signature campaigns but the bounty hunter were not paid because the project like Postbase was underfunded and Opair and Decloud ended up been scam

I agree with you that it is a good start especially with individuals that like to put their foot into the door about cryptocurrency and other projects.  As mentioned there is the risk of time and effort to pursue an altcoin, however it is good to put the effort on research before applying oneself to the commitment.  Personally, I used to just read the threads and was hesitant to reply in BBT, however, it feels reassurring thoughts can lead to applications of ideas as a contribution to the community.  IMHO, it wouldn't hurt to participate on other compaigns, just do the background research behind the project.

I am also worried about viruses that comes with the wallet of that currency downloaded on my laptop or phone. After browsing in the altcoin discussion session I noticed people are worried about securities mining altcoins, just wondering if the same risks are involved if I just download a wallet.

i think it's better to focus on the bitcoin campaign, they are far more remunerative, and less volatile than altcoin campaign, you may end with nothing by joining a altcoin campaign, because by the time you wait for the payment, the alt may be dead or dumped, there is at elast one campaign for newbie right now, i think 777 is its name?

I totally agree with this since I'm experiencing the same situation. I am currently raising my rank first before I join signature campaigns. But I find it okay to join if you are just enjoying posting things and other stuffs even if the pay is little. It really takes time, effort, and patience to earn bitcoin.

first of all you should only join a signature campaign when you are at least a Jr. member and even if they are accepting Newbies you should wait. because the amount of payment is dust and also you don't naturally know anything about anything, what are you going to post comment about then!

also you don't really need to keep altcoin wallets on your computer to accept those altcoins if you can go on an exchange service and use their wallets, you would eventually want to dump that altcoin for bitcoin anyways so it is better to keep it directly there.

Most of your statement are true about in the signature campaign, actually in my experience I only join in the ico potential in the campaign who give pay in bitcoinBTC but if there are going to pay the participants and  requires them to get a wallet from theirs I am doubtful not to join in that campaign.

That is a good observations and it happens always. Just strive to have a higher rank, don't lose hope. Be diligently join the discussion, without your notice, your rank is getting upgraded. When it becomes meber or up, you an join a decent signature campaign.

In the contrary one of my friend who participated in an ICO signature campaign that pays in their own coin have received much more than those who paid in BTC.  For example, Pesobit signature campaign pay their coin to the ICO participant.  For the rank member (basically member participant are paid around 0.01 BTC per week) for 4 weeks of campaign, they got 5664 PSB if converted at the current price of 0.00002 will total 0.1 + BTC which is more than those who paid BTC at their rank.  My friend sold his PSB at  9996 satoshi so that is around 0.566 BTC.  See the difference between the potential of earnings.  0.04BTC total for for week in BTC while 5664 PSB which is converted to 0.566 BTC in the same rank and timeframe of work.  Altcoin just give you potential of earning more or earning less, either way it is a risk which can be handsomely rewarded if the one you participated is a  promisng one.

Well, be careful with these campaigns because most of them are scams. They are using you as a way to promote their scam cheaply. The coins may be worthless, or the wallets even may be infected with viruses.
