Bullion providers can create new GSC upon payment for physical gold. Thus, the GSC created proves ownership of a quantity of bullion, which can be reedemed as physical bullion at any authorized bullion provider.
When a GSC is created it is registered on both the Ethereum blockchain and the Bitcoin blockchain, and its existence can be verified on both blockchains.
Bullion held in vaults of the bullion providers can be audited anytime to verify the amount held by clients as GSC.
