Unfortunately this happened with most Altcoins. At the launch date, all of them started at a high price and then fell down day after day until a stable price is established. If you want to buy Altcoins, ALWAYS buy them about one month after release and you'll be fine.

I think it's expected to go down in price because of the combination of the increasing blockreward and the ridiculous 20% developer tax.


For example, let's just assume Zcash magically reaches a marketcap of $100mil overnight for simplicity's sake (for comparison Monero is at $85mil cap and Ethereum is at $933mil.

That would mean 1 ZEC would go for 1.14 BTC at block 20.000 where the blockreward reaches 12.5 ZEC. Not going to happen but bear with me.

At block 40.000 (~69 days from launch) with the same marketcap 1 ZEC would only go for 0.38 BTC.

One year from launch with the same marketcap and with a supply of 2.503.000 that would only be 0.057 BTC per 1 ZEC.


Basically, it was, and still is a terrible investment unless the price drops way down. And who knows how badly the ongoing 20% dev fee will get in the way of people getting interested in it in the first place. It might never reach $100mil cap.

Wrong, this is just happened with zcash, in my history, i don't ever find about the coin are get decreased from 3500 btc for each into the 0.3 next rate 0.2 for a few hours later. Totally there are some false things with the coins.

1 btc is  somehow  okay  because   you  only  loss  a  little  but still   its considered as  loss  because you  bought  it at 1 btc and  the current price  is  0.2  which means you  lose for about  80% already   and thats   not  really good  how  much  more on  those  who  bought on 100btc.. If  i were  them  i would really  commit suicide.  haha. But still okay  if  they  hold  thousands  of bitcoins  and those  loss  is just a dust. sad but true .28 now really falling from time to time just bought it a day ago with .59 now i lost a half of it.

I really don't think so.  I think this was mostly nothing else but orchestrated market manipulation.  Look at the market cap, and look at the initial investment.  Of course, here and there, there may have been a silly person having bought a fraction of a ZEC for a crazy price, but I think this has been mainly people buying their own coins to prop up the market.

0.6 ZEC were traded @ 3299 BTC. That's roughly 5 BTC in fees (if we assume its 0,15%). I would call that person/group whale/s, not "silly".

Being a traped on shitcoin is part of risk on making investment into altcoins, i don't think it is about scam or other criminal, i just think like trader who be lost the money because of being traped on shitcoin.
