why is it so hard to buy bitcoin

I have not really bought any bitcoin in a while, i have been mostly trading this last year.  but i have been trying to buy today from localbitcoins and bittylicious and it has been a real challenge.  they want photos of me holding cards on localbitcoins and on bitty they need about 4 different forms of id, what is going on. 

this is seriously restrictive to anyone wanting to get into bitcoin,  like its meant to be pseudonymous but if the gate ways into bitcoin dont allow that people will be put off.   

They are  really  strict  because they  dont  want  fraud   the same as  other  members  said here. They are  just  imposing  their   requirements  its real hard  though for those  who dont have  enough requirement but for those who have  , transaction would be easy by the way if you  found out  thats   difficult you couldalways seek  for another legit exchanges though , there are  lots   of there  actually. You  just need to  find and  use  which really suits  you.

That's true. I believe this is to avoid any scams and doing illegal in bitcoin community like money laundering and other related things. Hence it's not government mandated but this is for our own security so they could easily track those people whose doing illegal.

If  would run and exchange site i would  do the same  thing   of   making such  strict  implementations  of  identification because as we all know that  there are  lots of  people   today  will do  anything   just  to  take advantage from other  people thats why  its  really correct to become strict  and  imposing   such act. You could eventually say its hard because  you dont  have   the  enough  requirements  .

Yes it is aimed at the security and authenticity of your account. The identity will be safe and will not be disseminated. It's their rules and maybe you try to follow because it's not too hard in my opinion. Destination has such good and to prevent account theft and misuse of the account.

do you have a friends that having bitcoin in around you? then if you have, maybe you can ask them so sell it to you. or if you've feel to hard to buy in localbitcoin, then i suggest to you to search another seller that will help you to buy bitcoin from them. there is many sellers available in localbitcoin and you can choose another if the one you choose is not fit for you.

i think it depends from your country , or try to get community in your country first , buy from some friend like what the other said , and you no need to use id card or another verification ,

Because there are more and more scammers who find new ways to cheat.

This really stops bitcoin growth.

If bitcoin was reversible, all those scammers will disappear ,but bitcoin will lose a big advantage.

I didn`t know about this measures on local bitcoins, probably there was to many scams, or scam attempts and they decided to rise security on a higher level. Do you have any ATM close to you, or maybe there is some other way for you to buy bitcoin without so many documents, like someone close, or you can even try to open a thread here and you can buy bitcoins from some trusted member.
Security with time will become more strict, and people will be more careful, bitcoin worth a lot now, and people don`t wish to be scammed for this valuable things they have in their possession.

For me it ain't that hard to buy bitcoin now if I want to, just use a web wallet that allows you to buy bitcoin directly from them where you can pay them conveniently at a payment method of your choice. For that, I recommend coins.ph if you are in Philippines it is very convenient since you can pay it via 7 eleven stores nationwide. You can also pay them via bank which makes it very convenient.

well if some sellers do request you to do that strange thing i call it as usual thing they need to do to make sure they're not going to be scammed by the buyers,nowaday there's so many credit card data stolen and some carders trying to take advantage of some bitcoin seller to get bitcoin by using their stolen credit card data,it's a challange indeed but if you do have the card then why don't just do that only if you don't mind

I never have a hard time selling my bitcoin. The local exchange where I put my bitcoin always allow me to sell my bitcoins anytime and to be hones I can easily convert it to fiat and transfer into my bank account. I think you should look for a good exchange site in your area.

Most bitcoin sellers in Localbitcoins only ask for additional documents if is your first time buying, if you use alternative payments system (like PP, Moneygram, WU, etc), if your bank account has different a name of the localbitcoins account. But normally if everthing is OK, it's not necessary -- it's bad indeed -- to ask for documents if everything fits well.

They are looking for those IDs so you can show them proof that you are actually who you said you are. You can always buy from your friends to buy bitcoins. I also think that uploading IDs is kind of a hassle. Even local exchanger requires you to submit an ID but most of the time they only require one ID which is pretty convenient compared to the 4 different IDs they were asking in bitty.

Practically, there is no any difficulty in buying of bitcoin except if you do not know how to or you are just a newbie into the cryptocurrency world. One other factor could be a possible restrictions in your country.

if you buy bitcoin with paypal you'd be surprise only few takers will do. I've tried buying when i first learned about it,  people turn down paypal.
you'd much prefer earning it here in the forum than buying. OR maybe provide services through your skills to get bitcoin.

I'm not sure about bittylicious, but with localbitcoins.com depending upon the seller sometimes you might be requested to reveal your identity. While joining to get increased trust rate into your profile you were asked about several forms. This is for your goodness and the trading website doesn't gonna get benefited.

there are people that can steal id in the web i would never give my id to a strange on the internet, also because of this someone can actually deliver false document, with a stolen bank account, so there is no actually safe way to tell if you are dealing with a scammer
