Hey everyone, I'm new to mining; I can't seem to produce anything or recieve shares despite having a pretty okay hashrate.  Could anybody point me in the right direction here?  I have screen capped what my cgminer looks like. https://i.imgur.com/x5l1LD1.png

I really wish I could post in my Pool's thread; could you at least inform me as to what an invalid share even is/does? Is it just duplicate information?

I'm really sorry, I don't know much about mining.

I just googled and found this quote, it might shed some light for you:

Quote
An invalid share might be a share you submitted with an error in calculations, or possibly a stale share, depending on the pool implementation.

A possible reason for a rejection of a share might be that the pool doesn't use difficulty 1 as the target, while some miners might try submitting those shares
There is also a possibility that your miner makes some mistakes while calculating hashes, but that is less likely
The pool might be poorly implemented and make some mistakes
A reason for a stale share might be that:

The pool does not use long polling, thus it doesn't inform the miners when to update their getwork
All in all, you should ask other people whether they have the same problem for the given pool, and try mining using a different miner and a different computer and see if the problem persists.

I appreciate it; I still can't seem to find the root of the problem though.

p.s.
Add --scrypt to your cgminer parameters.

Add --scrypt to your cgminer parameters.

Hmmm, I did that and I've dropped from 172.0Mh/s to 15Kh/s.

Welcome to litecoin world. You can increase the hashrate by tweaking

Well.. it kinda up to you -

1) Produce invalids with 172MH/s
2) Produce valids with 16 KH/s

: D

You want to check this hardware comparison - https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

Eh thanks, something is definitely still up though; I'm getting the same hashrate on my laptop as my desktop with 2 gtx 560 ti's.
