why would he embrace bitcoin?

america is gonna try at least to become insular and protectionist. that doesn't align with what bitcoin stands for.

Implementing protectionist regulations basically means that the US is going to shut itself out from the Chinese exports, the thing that Trump had been constantly reiterating during his presidential campaign. If he lives up to his promises, that would mean that the Chinese government will have to find new markets for their manufactures by making their goods more competitive. Devaluing national currency is one of the ways of doing exactly that, and exactly that they have been doing for the last couple of years. But it will also lead to a greater demand for Bitcoin from the Chinese public with Bitcoin prices evidently going up.

this election may have a good ending and a lot of good and positive hype for bitcoin and its price but in the end the $1000 mark is a big target and it wouldn't be easy just to get there because of a simple election that may or may not be positive for bitcoin.

besides don't forget that many people think of $1000 as a point where they should dump!!!

Looks like everybody is waiting to dump the coin as soon as the value reaches $1000 but smart traders are already cashing in with every single rise and starts accumulating with every price dip,i had a expectation that the price would reach $800 after the elections but consolidated around $750

Trupm is a businessman, he have people who work for him and they inform him about everything. If price rise now after his win, he definitely had fingers in that rise. He is a corporation, and in this case I'm a bit worried for bitcoin.Who will tell what this corporations plan to do with bitcoins, and how much involved are they for real. To me this open to many questions and I don't like to be without answers.

Well, the election may has good impact to bitcoin if Trump really support bitcoin and regulation also rearrangement to help widely spread of bitcoin in entire states but it could takes a long time to do. We can't just hope that happen as we know bitcoin is decentralized and government can't do many things to interfere bitcoin price to rise $1000. Maybe what they have discussed about China capital could make it reach that price.

I remember people saying that everyone was going to dump their coins right after the halving. But the price topped a few weeks before the halving. So I think that a lot of people will start selling bitcoins before the price even touches $1,000. But if the bullish sentiment is high the price may shoot right through that resistance level.

Sounds like whatever he does to follow through on what he said during the campaign will be a boon for bitcoin. That is, if he does anything  Wink

For one, he may do that just to show that he has a tech policy (he does not obviously). Clearly he does not give a damn about bitcoin as he's got other stuff on his plate right now.

Nothing will really change now when Trump become the president.
Cryptocurrency is the least of his worries. So if you expecting some kind of regulation or official statement you will be disappointed.
Latest minor Bitcoin's price spike was caused by slight panic on the stock exchanges due to Trump's victory but this is only temporary.

No it will not rise to the 1000 dollar just because of the fact Trump is become the president of the united states, that is just not possible in my eyes either.

Honestly I don't find any relation of bitcoin price movement to Trump being US president.  If you are implying that this will happen because people of america will surely move their money out of America, I don't think this thing will happen either.  There is no indication that trump will support bitcoin, I have not heard it from him saying that he will.

this is such a big speculation and a loose one at that if you ask me.

because it was just an election and that is not changing much about bitcoin as a currency that is being used all over the world not just by the Americans.

There is a FOMO brewing...

I am sure that bitcoin is independent from such thing as politic. But the States are on the third place among countries with biggest number of bitcoin users. So politic of Trump to bitcoin can affect on bitcoin. I believe that with Teump's positive decisions to bitcoin or without, one day bitcoin will reach the point of 1000$.

Trump being President may/may not affect the price of Bitcoin. I think time can only tell. Maybe, if Trump goes out in the open and supports BTC in a large scale, it might grow to $800-$850 fast. $1000 might be very difficult. It all depends on the fact of whether he knows about BTC or not and whether he will support BTC or not.

I'm sure he has at best a very vague understanding of what bitcoin is, so it's definitely at the bottom of his priorities. He's got other way more urgent matters to take care for the time being and in the foreseeable future. I would be surprised if his office releases any coherent statement re tech in general by the end of the year.

None would ever do that, only those who who have a much broader view of bitcoin and all the technological innovation it's brought along. Seems like the Chinese have a much progressive take on bitcoin.
