Wifi is a type of radio frequency technology.

Bluetooth is another radio frequency and two computers or devices can connect to each other. Here is a useful guide about creating a PAN with bluetooth on linux: http://elinux.org/Bluetooth_Network.

Did you have a specific type radio frequency in mind?
