:: Kasvain's Modded vBIOSes for AMD videocards  ::

This thread is mainly for discussion about my releases. Please post your vBIOSes to some another thread if they are not left for modding Smiley
I have done so called memory strap mods for some AMD videocard vBIOSes lately just for fun. I'll keep a list of all modded vBIOSes in the first post.
The major thing in the modification in these is a faster video memory achieved by using modded memory straps and sometimes lowered voltages to achieve better effiency.
I'm using all the modded vBIOSes myself I've posted in here and will update to newer if doing changes to ones already posted.
Every vBIOS will have some information about it and what card it's made for and so on. I don't take any kind of responsibility of any damages or loss made by my modifications. Use with own risk. Always backup your original ROM first, I recommend strongly using AtiFlash or AtiWinFlash for backing up the original vBIOS and for writing the new vBIOS.

Post a download URL to the original vBIOS and I'll check can I modify it. If a modification can be done, I'll post a download URL to the modded one and you have to reply how it works so we can add it to the list.

Alright I finally found a good ELPIDA timing strap. Use only 1500 Mhz. That Gigabyte 7970 finally gets 80 Sol/s using this, previously it was max 70 Sol/s

Put it inside your bios, I am too lazy to do any more Hex editing.

This has only 9 timings so make sure you include an extra dummy timing so the length of the file is the same.

Could someone help me getting these straps into my rom?
would be great

Try this and see does it tell about vBIOS not found since i cant check CRC https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-c7FrbyofW0XzV3clp1Zi0yM0U

VBE7.0.0.7b says "Invalid checksum"... safe to flash it with atiflash?

atiflash will complain the vBIOS is not found. Let me look where is your vBIOS CRC located at so I can insert it properly. Don't expect quick answer.

Don't, try this instead:

The CRC should be corrected now.

To fix the check sum open in VBE7 and re-save.

That's what's done for the .rom, for 7xxx cards I mostly input the CRC checksum manually as hex, if not possible then by using VBE.

Can you please make something for R9 290 tri-x 4gb. I can't find any custom bios for this card, main point is that for mining this are good cards but they spend to much electricity. Smiley

Dump the original BIOS with AtiWinFlash for example, then upload it, post a download URL and let me look what I can do.

i surely will

Forgot to tell I'd like to know the exact model of the card and if possible a URL with a picture.
Please also reply with exact "Memory Name" taken from the ASUS MemoryInfo 1005.
Other people can get this if they have exactly identical videocard.
66 to 86 Sol/s is a very good improvement, but looks like there is also faster vBIOSes around when looking to 4th card on the picture
