here is what happened, there is a transaction from an exchange wallet to another exchange wallet so we have no access to the private keys of either addresses.

it is a small (373 byte) transaction which has 0 fees, transferring a rather large amount and it has been days without confirmation.

what options do we have apart from waiting and praying Smiley ?

for example can i pay the miners the fee in a separate transaction so that they include this 0 fee tx in a block?

No you can't change the fee but someone running a full node could rebroadcast it for you. You'll have to find someone on the forum who runs a full node (or from somewhere else of course).

Probably. Try contacting Quickseller or macbook-air. They can push your tx to F2pool upon request (that doesn't mean they'll always do it though).

Edit:
Or you can find other pool operators and contact them.

i can re-broadcast it myself fine, thank you very much!
i need it mined, and it is not even my transaction. i am helping a friend out and the sender (which is a shitty local exchange service) is not helping.

thanks for the links, i sent them both a PM

I can do that, but it might be better to replace the TX with one that pays a higher fee. Reading is hard (see the remark by achow101 below)

@OP can you post a TX-ID or send me a PM with it?

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

You have a few options. You can wait and pray, ask a miner kindly to include it for you, or contact the exchange's support and ask them to resend with a fee. Your best bet would be to ask a miner, (quickseller or macbook-air can do that, as stated earlier). However, it wouldn't hurt to contact the customer support of the sending exchange and see if they can RBF it. If they can't, you could also ask the receiving exchange if they can CPFP it.

I can do that, but it might be better to replace the TX with one that pays a higher fee.

Yes, that would be very helpful. Better would be to post the raw transaction in case the transaction does disappear so that people who run full nodes (including myself) can rebroadcast it for you.

thank you all for replies.
as an update i have contacted Quickseller and he already pushed that transaction to f2pool. now i am waiting on confirmation.

i did not post the tx because it is not mine so i thought the owner may not want it on public.

It's already public, that's how Bitcoin works. My node probably already sees it, I just don't know which of the transactions it is. Once a transaction is broadcast, it is public.

That is right, maybe i chose my words poorly Smiley
what i meant was more in the area of keeping the privacy and having the pseudonymous state. which is as everyone sees tx 123abcd... but unless i announce it to the world that 123abcd... is mine, nobody can know that unless they do blockchain analysis and ask the exchanges Smiley

and it is already confirmed thanks to Quickseller, i guess i will lock the topic in the morning, maybe someone has something to say.

and thanks to everyone here to replied.

If you wanted to leave the transaction pseudonymous you shouldn't have mentioned the exact size and fee of it (373, 0). A quick search and I know your tx, it starts with c45b6e66a2aa2

oopsie, i did not even think about that. thanks for bringing it to my attention though, it is good to have it in mind for maybe some next time.
luckily the owner doesn't mind this though.
