This is pretty huge salary per year and if his not going to accept it maybe his going to donate it into charity or maybe his going to corrupt president and he will get more money if his going to corrupt his country and not going to better again sad for america but i have trust on trump
Such a PR campaign may impress uneducated people. People who know how to think will ask the question what a fool refuses the money. Than it compensates them to yourself.

if trump was the fool the media makes him out to be, he would have demanded a pay incress. that would be more inline with the made up person the media makes him out to be( an asshole ).

to accept the money and then promising to "give it away" to some worthy organization or whatever, goes against his principles.
the general idea is that government does way to much of this already, they have so much power, that everyone is lining up to suck the government's dick for favors, governments like getting there dick sucked so much they are willing to sign bad deals.

not taking a salary necessarily means the gov. is going to need to borrow less money in order for it to function, which in and of itself is plenty.
