Showing similar threads often can resurrect old necro threads with outdated information. In Bitcoin world some things change very fast.

Most people that start new threads on a topic are completely aware that other threads exist discussing the same topic.

The reasons they start another topic are manyfold:
- they are not happy with the way the discussion evolved in the existing topic - or -
- they want to make absolutely sure that no one misses that new development they have just discovered (even though the same thing has been discussed for hours) - or -
- the more threads you start, the bigger your e-peen.
