[Edit - Bitparking just agreed to extend the trading and withdrawal deadlines - you can safely ignore this thread. See this post for details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168116.msg1752561#msg1752561]

Note the question-mark - this isn't certain. Please excuse all the links, but for this one I thought I should really provide some kind of source for every point.

Terracoins have been shooting up in price in anticipation of their being added to the BTC-E exchange.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167009.0

Vircurex has been inaccessible for some time now, due to DDOS, apparently having data center trouble, and there is no idea when it might be back.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168085.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168089.0

(Some people have said is was actually hacked, though I don't think I believe this).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168079

That leaves https://trcexchange.bitparking.com/ to get them at, which is closing for trading in a few hours.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137718.0

After that time, you still have several days to get your coins out, but you can't buy TerraCoins anymore on that site.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a bit of a panic buy in a few hours. Then again, Vircurex might come back in 10 minutes and Terracoins will go back to merely doubling in value as normal.  Wink

Note (and this isn't said enough in these heads-up posts): please do not risk more coins than you can afford to lose, or leave too many of your coins in any one exchange. Altcoin trading may be returning 10x returns lately, but it is also risky.

Update...

Vircurex has just a few minutes ago tweeted "Our servers are not hacked. Your funds are safe and secure." - so that's one less thing to worry about.

Looks like it might be too late to get lots of TRC now - there are aren't many BTC worth of TRC left on https://trcexchange.bitparking.com - maybe someone in the know is grabbing them as we speak.  Huh

I removed mine when I heard they were shutting down.

Cryptonit is still open, but they haven't had much volume lately.

Gah! There are only 60 Terracoins left! Hardly worth opening an account.

Considering how unprofitable they are to mine, I doubt you'll see massive inflation. >_>

It'll take higher bids than what's currently there for me to put any of mine up for sale there, right now.

You can still get some lower than that on https://trcexchange.bitparking.com/main right now.

How do we even know that BTC-E is going to start trading these currencies today?

Do we know that? Although they did say very soon I haven't heard anything suggesting that it's today.

What is a distinct possibility (although not certain, or maybe even likely, I don't know) is that Vircurex will not reopen until whatever day BTC-E starts trading the currencies, which would make right now the last chance to get TRC from an exchange.

All in the OP is either provably happening, or clearly stated as opinion.

Which bits do you think are rumours, and why do you think that?

That was the point of the post - there is, but only for a few hours unless Vircurex comes back before BTC-E starts trading them.

Update: Virucex have now tweeted saying they hope to be back online by Monday: "Application migration and testing probably done by Monday night".

It's all speculation/rumour to drum up interest and cause the price to inflate/deflate. Why else would a site that's down half the time keep yanking people's chains? It's not helped by the fact that you, and everyone's mother have been posting about it.

You think Vircurex and Bitparking conspired to bring their sites down on the same day to manipulate the value of an alt currency?

I wouldn't put it past them, they are businesses after all. Make the most profit for the least amount of effort. They know that Bitcoin is a bubble, altcoins even more so.
