What is XRP?

@DanielJonss. On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Ripple is a very interesting concept (and ripple.com is a first seen implementation)  — a network of trust, through which bitcoins, dollars, and other valuables could be transferred almost instantly. People open credit lines to each other, forming some social graph of available credit resources.

When, say, Ann needs to pay Boris — system just finds apropriate path from Ann to Boris, reducing available credit between people along the way.

Every pair of people once a time could «settle» their relations by, say, meeting and repaying in cash. This would once again add available credit between them — and between anyone that are accessible through the social graph around them.
