play sound on new incoming payment

I'm running electrum on OS X. Is there a way to play a sound / get a notification in case of a new payment arrives?
I wasn't able to find an option for this in the settings & plugin tab.

According to github the sound request is still an open issue: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/1568

There are system tray notifications though, maybe that will suit your needs?

How to enable them? Haven't found an option for notifications at all.

It's not possible to enable them from the settings, having sound on transaction was suggested on Github but was never added as ThomasV requested a pull request and whoever made the suggestion never did it. If you know what you are doing then you could edit the code source and compile it your self otherwise just don't do anything and wait till It gets implemented.
