Err.. Bitcoin brought about the whole "decentralisation" idea. It is vulnerable to a 51% attack but I don't think any alternative currency has found a way around that and it's usually best to stick with the biggest player in the market. Maybe you could explain why you think Synero and ZCash are better options?

Bitcoin, in its current avatar, is pretty decentralized.
As for free speech, you have the internet and dark web. Google and Twitter may be centralized organizations, but the internet isn't.

Yes, of course, as of now we are enjoying the decentralization benefits as accorded by Bitcoin and other cryptocurencies. However, nothing is perfect in this world and anything we thought can be fool-proof may not be 100% as it should be when exposed against the barrage of human nature. I am sure that this whole thing is also evolving so we can expect more improvements and innovations along the way.

I don't even think that some other projects or alt coins will replace bitcoin. And for the decentralization idea, it came all from bitcoin. Why not just stay in bitcoin and just use those alt coins for trading or if you want to you can also hold it if you believe they will be as the same as bitcoin. We need increased decentralization, probably, however changing out the currency being used completely isn't a useful course of action. You have to find ways to fix the issue you're experiencing before you completely toss whatever it is you have available to you away.

As long as the Andresen/Hearn/Ver does not succeed with their disinformation campaign in convincing miners to support excessive block sizes, Bitcoin remains highly decentralized.

I think you are conceptually mixing decentralization and free speech/privacy. Bitcoin is primarily a currency, not a communication platform (although it can be and has been used for this purpose as well). There are several other decentralized networks under development which are better suited for this purpose, such as MaidSafe/Mega (both supporting Bitcoin in one way or another).

I agree that Bitcoin's privacy must be improved in the medium / long term to remain resilient against attacks by the elites in charge. Blockchain analysis, blacklisting coins and other coercive KYC/AML despotism could become a serious threat for Bitcoin's fungibility and might undermine its use.

Zcash is just bitcoin reskin with added advanced privacy features and fancy algorithms which prevents usage of ASICs to mine the coin. Nothing more and nothing groundbreaking.

A decentralized currency should be de-monopolised and free from any Government control, however, it's not always possible as Governments of certain nations can regulate and control as well as ask Personal KYC information of users to tax Bitcoin purchases and sales as Income tax.

Bitcoin has privacy if learned to use without linking your personal details to the purchases you've made. Make purchases to an official address for delivery. Also, keep in mind that decentralization is only good as long as people don't come up with an agenda to make it available to only a particular group and hold control in that group.

I agree. Bitcoin is doing fine and we don't need to worry about decentralization thing because bitcoin has been and will always be in this form for it was designed this way by it's creator. For me, we don't need to jump out of bitcoin and go with other altcoins because bitcoin has been guaranteed to be safe and the transactions made out of it is not being traced by anyone in the community. As long as you are not purchasing for illegal activities you have no liability with the government, it's decentralize since it's the nature of bitcoin and we could expect more companies to accept bitcoin in the future. The tax angle is just fine as though we are anonymous the company that legitimately operates will have to pay taxes.

Even ethereum started to fail lately. They promoted that shitcoin like crazy but no matter what they do/done it will share the same fate with litecoin= weak volume, low price=dead. Look at zcash scam, lol. It didn't even survive a week! Already dead.

the option is obviously only bitcoin!
only a fool thinks altcoins are decentralized, specially those that have been getting pump and dumps and some of those which had a huge premine, ICO ,... other ways to take the control of 80-90% of the available coins.
and only a pumper will name altcoins as good and without centralization and manipulation to hype the coins for a temporary pump before moving on to the next.

if bitcoin was centralized it had already forked like other coins e.g ETH which had 4 hard forks already!!!
