Hey everyone, please help.

I tried to instal Electrum on windows 10 like dozens of times, i tried all versions - stand alone, installer and portable.

All the time when he try to run the icon appear in tray and then it just crashes without even showing the window of the wallet.

I have windows 10 64bit.

On the same PC i have Windows 8 and there it works fine, so i have to restart the PC everytie i need to check my wallet.

Did anyone had same problem or know what to do?

I guess that your wallet files in the hidden appdata folder is corrupt. Try to find this folder under c:\users\[your username]\appdata and delete it. But first make a backup if you have any bitcoins in this wallet!

I had that issue once and It got fixed by deleting the config file on the %appdata%/Electrum directory as shown here :

The portable version doesn't use the appdata folder, it's everything in the folder from where you started the exe. You have to import you old wallet into the portable version to get access to your bitcoins.

Same thing with the insateller. I have deleted everything. Installed the new version and after he asked me which server i want to use - the program crashed again. Without any error, just crashed.

And when i am trying to open it again - there no screen, no nothing.

I played around with the portable version to have more control on what I do.
The only way I managed to crash Electrum was to not allow it write its data (I made a electrum_data file, read-only, so it cannot create its folder).
The point is that I think that the place Electrum wants to save its data or some of the existing data you want to reuse is read only, or corrupted or maybe the antivirus blocks or deletes it.

Start with portable version on a fresh folder which is not on the system drive.
Make a new wallet (at least until you get the things work).
If it still crashes, check your antivirus' quarantine or logs.

I've read not long ago here that somebody had issues with Bitcoin Core and it looks like the problem was Windows Defender breaking data files.
