I'm curious as to what people buy with bitcoin? Surely we can't all just horde it?!

The only thing I bought was a miner from BFL. This was just before the spike so my miner has now cost me about $3,000. That's a hard pill to swallow but I know others are worse off than me. Also, I hope to make that back quickly as long as they start shipping... soon Huh

Post up photos or just a description of what you've purchased.

A car - but yeah, exchanged for fiat first.

Geek toys:  Android tablet, helicopter (great kitty toy), odds 'n' ends like that.

Cigarettes.  Damn, I wish somebody would sell real Gauloises - the black tobacco ones...

I'm putting together a new computer parts order for bitcoinstore.

Oh... yeah... peace of mind.

I've bought various things, but my top 3 would be...

3. Alpaca wool socks - I bought them mostly for bitcoinness reasons, they are a classic. But they turned out to be very good quality socks. You can hike for days and your feet don't smell. Huh  Well worth the money. If they ever wear out I will buy more.

2. VPN Service - This one I add because of the purchasing experience. I goggled for VPN and Bitcoin, looked at a few. I went with an established business that took bitcoin, so everything was just like shopping online until the purchase. At checkout I gave only an email and and sent some bitcoin. I received an email with credentials. With a credit card I would have to give all my personal info to a company I don't know.

1. Recipe for Chinese food medicine - My wife likes cooking exotic dishes. So using google translate and bitcoin I found a person in China who sold me a PDF via escrow. The PDF contained a translation of traditional recipes. That was a moment when I understood why bitcoin could become one of the most powerful ideas in the world.

That's brilliant!!!

Cookbooks of any kind are the worst books in the world to sell.  People only buy them - even the rare ones - for one or two recipes.  The last brick and mortar store I had, I wouldn't even carry them.  People buy the book, copy the recipe, and return it.  I had some maggot do that with an 1828 Louis Ude (the first book published with a recipe for the souffle): banned for life.  Fucker.  $800 book.

I've bought VPN services, dog tags (http://www.mydogtag.com/), the services of a talented web designer (http://www.blindmikey.com).  And I'd buy a lot using Bitcoin if more vendors offered that option.  And I wish to god I were paid in Bitcoin for all the overseas freelance jobs I do for which the banking fees are over $30 for a transaction of a few hundred dollars.

VPN, lots of Steam games, some hardware.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
