Hi everyone.
My AntMiner S3 has been mining on Slush's Pool for 14 days at about 450GH/s on default 225M, i only notice now that the voltage in the advanced configuration settings is 0000, and i cant remember if i changed that initially. Be that as it may, I bought the miner from eBay, and the unit was bricked up. After searching on forums and discussions i managed to flash the firmware to the miner using USB TTL, putty and TFTPD64. My network settings are set to DHCP and i was mining through my router connected via ethernet directly. I can log in to the web interface and configure settings etc.

After setting the freq a step higher to 231.15M the miners hashrate dropped drastically, i left it for a while to see if it will stabilize, but it didn't.I have tried this initially and had no problem, but reverted back to the default setting because i didnt want the miner to get to warm.
So i set it back to 225M and nothing improved. I then did a reboot and noticed that the ethernet ORANGE LED is on and the GREEN ethernet LED is flashing as transmitting, but what concerns me is that the RED LED and GREEN LED next to the ethernet LEDs are flashing synchronously every sec.
Currently my miner is connected to the mining pool, but i see no hashrate,
Status is Alive,

The AntMiner blocks show no information.

Does anyone have any additional information for me on what might be the solution or cause of this state of the miner. I re-flashed the firmware and done resets etc, but still get the same outcome.

I have never seen the LED light configuration as mentioned above with the RED and GREEN LEDS flashing every secong and also i dont see the RED LED flashing on the side of the hashboards.

Thanks in advance.

So i have done some troubleshooting and this is what i found.

When disconnect the hash boards from the controller board and connect one board to the opposite side of the controller board, that board mines at 225 GH/s when set to 218 GH/s.
When i disconnect the working hash board and connect the 2nd hash board to the same connection on the controller board, then i don't get any hashing done and the RED LED and the GREEN LED next to the ethernet port flashes synchronously every sec.

So it seems to be the hashboard thats faulty.

Can anyone confirm this and advise on repair or maintenance steps?

Thanks.

From what I understood from your posts, it's seems that one of boards has died.
Are you saying none of the boards are hashing when they are both connected?

Replacing a S3 board at this point will definitely not be profitable, so I wouldn't recommend putting any money into it.

Yes; when both boards are connected then none of the boards are working.Does this indicate that one board is dead? I would have expected atleast that one board still works?
I've now been mining with one board connected to the opposite terminal of the controller board at 225GH/s for a day.

Just remove the cable or disconnect the cable from control board to dead hashing board and then you can start mining with remaining hashing board.

I found this on forum and I don't think if the hashing board still available here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1857129.0
if your hashing board is dead then you can still replace it with new hashing board but you need to use the upgrade kit and replace hashing boards to upgrade it like a brand new.

What cable do you mean? 6 pin PSU connector? Or cable inside antiner?

Both 6 pin connector and the 20 pin connector from control board to dead hashboard, disconnect them and try to start mining with 1 hashing board.

Look at the image here you must disconnect all connector of dead hashboard.
