Cheesy i think nobody is really understanding ripple.
i tried to read the whole documentationt. i understand maybe 90% of it
BUT i dont understand how any other currency than XRP is gettin in and out of the system..

if bitcoin is too complicated for the masses.. then ripple is rocket science!

I see what you mean.
It looks like access to "gateways" is still "coming soon"

Last week I uses WeExchange to put a small amount of bitcoins into my Ripple account, and it wasn't hard - but I have forgotten how I did it. I'm sure if I want to do more I can figure it out easy enough.

Its the internal deal making and handling that I'm still fuzzy on, and I don't really have the time right now to dig into it.

Shire Silver, a better bullion that fits in your wallet. Get some, now accepting bitcoin!

I see lots of possibilities with Ripple.

Now if I can find someone or an exchange to actually buy Ripples, then I might be able to do something with it. Huh

I dont think they are officially selling them yet. Pretty hard to get especially if you have no bitcoins. Buying it with ordinary cash is kinda hard

But is there a way to buy them for bitcoin? And what's the approximate price for BTC/XRP?

The best I can figure out it's a convenient way to exchange currencies.

You buy XRP in USD, send the XRP to a business, friends or family and they sell the XRP for their currency. I guess the idea is that eventually people will cease using XRP to exchange for another currency and will begin trading directly in XRP?

Ripple confuses me too.

Remember, Ripple is still beta software; once they release it, everything should be mainstreamed and understandable, with easy to understand documentation for what to do with it and how to do it.

Should is the key operator here.

I'm interested in the Ripple platform, seems like it could be a good alternative for transferring money into Argentinian Pesos at the "blue rate" without fees. I'm interested in trying the platform and seeing how it evolves, so if anyone would like to spare a few Ripples, I would appreciate it: rBdVPECNfrgDfpj5WHJBchtv6gZ4Bo6QMR

I figured this out. I am using bitstamp to fund the account using bitcoin. I found out they have a gateway with Ripple.

I am waiting for the TT to post on my account. I tell bitstamp how many bitcoins I want to send to Ripple,

Then as I understand it I have to grant the gateway a trust limit to receive the Bitcoins in Ripple.

However I am new to Ripple so everything I say could be wrong.

Market price? I have no clue. But I will take any Ripples for free, no limit.

If someone will help out with 300 XRP, I'll return a much bigger amount. Just need a way in.
