I hadn't even hear about Pulse until you mentioned it. However, it does appear their coin has the same purpose as mine. That's fine though because my hosting services won't be accepting Pulse, I will be accepting HOST.

Yes the coin is currently only POS. You're looking at it the wrong way though. Coins in the POW phase have the tendency to lower in price due to miner dumps. HOST will never have to worry about this.
