Quote
The president-elect said that he had talked with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia since winning the election, but he did not elaborate. He said it would be “nice” if he and Mr. Putin could get along, but he rejected the idea that any warming of relations would be called a “reset,” noting the criticism that Mrs. Clinton received after her attempts at bettering relations between the countries failed.

“I wouldn’t use that term after what happened,” Mr. Trump said.

Trump seems to be having commonsense. Russia is not a big threat to the United States. The biggest threats are the ISIS and China. Unfortunately, a decade of anti-Russian policies by the American establishment politicians have driven Russia towards China's orbit.

In a statement, the Kremlin said Putin expressed “his hope to work together for removing Russian-American relations from their crisis state” in his message to Trump.

Relations had previously been frosty with the US recently suspending talks with Russia on implementing a ceasefire and accusing Moscow of not living up to its commitments.

Various figures, including President Barack Obama, have been critical of Russia and Putin’s conduct.

However, with Trump at the helm, things could look very different. Wink

A nuclear weapon is in America. So to scare her Russian weapons is not necessary. America is not afraid of Putin under any President, and trump is no exception.I am sure that very soon, Putin will announce trump's enemy.

It is a good idea to be nice to the country with the most nuclear weapons.

The number of nuclear weapons doesn't matter. It only takes around 20-25 nuclear weapons to wipe-out life from the face of the earth. What you will do with the remaining nukes? It will be a better idea to convert these additional nuclear weapons to nuclear fuel, rather than storing them in underground bunkers. Cheap electricity can do wonders...

Nuclear energy is not cheap energy. How can we evaluate the environmental pollution at all stages of production of nuclear energy? Pollution occurs from the mining of uranium to storage of spent nuclear fuel.

ISIS no threat to Americans. I think that under the pretext of ISIL America is seeking its dominance in the middle East. China is the problem of the economy. But the real enemy of America is Russia. And soon it will say and Trump.

There is no pollution and all the costs of scories storage and other things are just included in the price of energy.

Have You ever been to the area where mined uranium? I am sure that there. If you have been there you would not say so. And storage! I'm not saying that happens in accidents.

1. The mineral extraction give no pollution, it change the Earth for sure, but there is no pollution.
The process is not much different as gold extraction.
Russia have different places of uranium extraction.

2. The storage of scories is safe to accidents.

Who told you this nonsense? There where they are developing uranium deposits always increased background radiation. These deposits can easily be detected from the satellite that is at a premium background.

The process is a "closed circle", and "radiation" is not "pollution".

I agree! If Hillary was elected we would be bordering on World War 3, there is no reason for unnecessary aggression towards a superpower with a large nuclear arsenal in the hands of a loose canon. The fact that Putin even congratulated Trump on his win is a great step forward and I believe peace between the two nations is vital.

Actually Russian Federation is a country in the hand of private Business, international investors, there is nothing to "make war on Russia", all things are just sold out and they have international owners.

The fact that Putin has congratulated Trump says nothing. Thus, he tries to give the victory Trump for his achievement. It is designed to blunt the Russians.

Trump will play his role and no more. His team prepare what to say to Putin in he will just read from paper. Currently Trump do not have deep knowledge in international politics, he is more US oriented, so it will take time, when he starts to understand other countries.
