Hey there!

Since yesterday I am facing a Problem I´ve had never before transfering btc from one electrum wallet to another.
Now i am not able to Transfer btc anymore. Either it gets no confirmations or the Transaction was not found by blockchain.
First yesterday I got no confirmations for the first time ever. I found out that my fees were probably too low (no problem with this before) so I changed the Settings to dynamic fees. Before that the transactions returned after a certain amount of time and switching servers. Now I changed the fees to dynamic and took a new receiving address and its still pending and gets no confirmations. When i try to view it on blockchain it says transaction not found.

How should I solve this Problem. Never had this before :-( Can anyone please help. I Need those btc.

Thanks!

Now I switched Servers again and the transaction was found but it shows the first pending transaction, which didnt work due to low fees. Also the fees I advised changed from a higher to the lower fee. And the receiving address changed too. It seems I am stuck somewhere and theres no way out  Cry

It would be helpfull if you posted transaction id's... At least we could use them to deduce if there is a problem and if the transactions were broadcasted alright...

There are loads of unconfirmed transactions sitting in the mempool at the moment, rest assured: you're not the only one waiting for confirmations (i have 2 transactions waiting to get into a block myself at this very moment)

It is indeed no longer in the blockchain.info, blocktrail.com or blockr.io mempool...
This means it either wasn't broadcasted, or it was already forgotten/dropped by (most of) the network.

you can re-broadcast the tx if you want to:
- open electrum
- right click the unconfirmed transaction
- chose details
- save the transaction
- open the textfile, copy the hex code
- use an online tool like https://blockr.io/tx/push to push the signed transaction hex back to the network

BTW: only do this if you transaction had sufficient fees!!!!!! If it had insufficient fees, rebroadcasting will probably result in the fact that your transaction will be broadcasted, sits in the mempool for a couple of days without getting into a block, then be dropped again.

In case of a low fee transaction, it might be necessary to wait a while or attempt to do a CPFP or double spent. But since you seem to be fairly new to bitcoin, this might be a tad difficult.

The transaction id you posted shows double spending. https://blockchain.info/tx/e45413daf14b737f9150bf3badc749bdc19b43f572e4c12a4bfa2b927689392b
I'm not an expert on that area but you can read something about it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=231309.0
There are other topics opened about double spend like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1688032.0 and this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1197567.0

like nydiacaskey01 said, it's a double spent input, but this is no problem whatsoever!
Both transactions use the same input, but they also generate one output to one address, and it's the same address for both transactions.

i can imagine what might have happened: you created the first transaction, it was forgotten by part of the network, your wallet removed the transaction from it's database so it could use the input from the first transaction again. Subsequently, you created a transaction using the same parameters as the first one, so your wallet's algorithm chose the same input again to create an output to the same address.

After it was broadcasted, other nodes like blockchain.info still had the initial tx in their mempool, so they now have 2 allmost identical transactions using the same inputs (so they catalog it as a double spend, which is the correct thing for them to do)

What will happen... Either both transactions remain unconfirmed and they're both forgotten after a while, or one of the two gets into a block and the other one is cancelled...

Should I now wait until some picks it up or do what? When the btc come back to wallet it was sent from what should I do to transfer it to the wallet I would like to transfer it to? Do a new transaction with new receiving adress or try to send it again with the push option?

if both adresses (the sending and the receiving) are yours, yeah, i'd suggest waiting a while untill all pending transactions are either confirmed or dropped. This can take a couple of days.
Afterwards, you could recreate the transactions that were dropped, maybe manually check the fee to make sure it's high enough, and mark the transaction as replacable (new feature in newer electrum versions 2.7.x). If you mark a tx as replacable, you can do a RBF and make the fee higher straight from the electrum gui without having to do difficult actions.

As long as you're sending coins between two of your own wallets, it does not matter.
Electrum manages all addresses in the wallet, if you send your coins to the same address or if you generate a new receiving address, both addresses will always be managed by the same wallet.

You should see a wallet as a piece of software that keeps private keys safe. It basically stores the keys, visualises the inputs to all addresses whose prive keys it manages, and helps you generate transactions using those inputs. When you generate a new receiving address, an extra private key is added to your wallet (actually, electrum keeps a 'stock' of about 100 pregenerated, unused private keys). This being said, your wallet still manages all previous private keys, so it does not matter if you generate a new receiving address or not.

I also have problems with confirmations.
I have been using blockchain as my wallet for 2 years now and never had any problems sending.
Since 24 hours ago non of my payments got any confirmations, still 0/3

The easyest sollution is to get the signed transaction hex by adding ?format=hex at the end of the above urls, for example:
https://blockchain.info/tx/7b38fe51ae4716031f50f0b2b586e0c326ccaa474980818daf2ddb9ac92e9a03?format=hex

Keep those hex'es in a seperate file. If the network drops the tx, you can at least rebroadcast it.

This will, in no way, speed up the addition of your transaction to a block, it's just a precaution you can take in case your transaction gets dropped from the mempool!

If you want the tx'es to be added to a block faster (confirmed), you can contact kano, macbook-air or quickseller and offer a reward for them to add your tx'es to a block.

Other than that, you could try to double spent the inputs, do a CPFP or a RBF, but those techniques are difficult and do not guarantee a confirmation either (they just enlarge the chance of a confirmation).

Like all the others before you (in this thread)
=> basically, the fee wasn't big enough in these tx'es. In your specific case, you also used the output of an unconfirmed transaction as input for a new transaction.

The sollutions are basically the same:
- wait, rebroadcast the hex if the tx is dropped from the mempool (see this thread)
- contact kano, macbook-air or quickseller and offer a reward (see this thread)
- construct a double spend  (see this thread)
- attempt a RBF  (see this thread)
- attempt a CPFP  (see this thread)

Hi mocacinno,

What if it's not found even if I added ?format=hex? I can't find my hex. My transaction is delayed for 3 days now, and my sending wallet won't refund it. Sad
