Is this a good setup for a new rig?

Hi I'm new here

I just found out about the bitcoin craze (when i heard that LulzSec got a 7000BTC donation lol) and want to try making a rig and creating some bitcoins. I'm not a fool and know I'm not gonna get rich; I just want to do this as a hobby and learn some more about computer hardware.
But I would like my setup to break even, at the very least.

I'm about to buy this setup:

2 ati 5830
2 gb RAM
80gb hard drive

what do you guys think? is the power wattage enough to support the 2 x 5830s?

Power looks alright for both cards.

Maybe someone else can comment on the board. Sticking the 2nd card into the PCIe x1 slot may degrade the mining performance.

Something to consider...
Maybe you want to expand the set-up later on.
Look for sale items, maybe you can get a decent 750W power supply later on that can supply more cards.
I would personally go for a board that has more PCIex16 slots. Then you can always add more later on and do not need to scrap your entire rig, when you get tired of it.

From previous readings in the tech help section as well as the mining rigs section, I don't believe there would be any degradation with regards to mining performance if OP decides to use 1xpcie --->16xpcie adapter. However, the power supply is KEY - don't go cheap on this one, especially with multi gpus.

I didn't see any lower performance running my card in a 1x vs 16x slot. My Mhash/s rates are on par with those listed on the bitcoin hardware page.

5830 is the way to go, if you can find them.... Selling for around $100 on Tigerdirect.com when they are available.
