I am setting up a shopping cart with ZenCart and I wanted to make some additions:

  • Items in database hold USD pricing but are *always* displayed in BTC using MtGox last price
  • Checkout needs to update at last minute to make sure price has not change dramatically since adding items to cart

There are far too many items in the catalog to bother updating things manually, so I don't see many options other than doing this. Open to other suggestions!

Yo. Any updates on this? I too have a ZenCart shop, integrated with bitpay and walletbit APIs, and was wondering if/how you managed to address this before I jump in too deep with both feet. Haven't been able to find any plugins yet to cope with the fluctuations. Perhaps ZenCart isn't the way to go?

Edit: found some suggestions on ZenCart forum:

"I suppose I could have a custom script which grabs the bitcoin exchange rate, manually divides it by my static usd price and manually updates the item's price in mysql."
