Hello, I am running 4 Rigs, 2of them are Gaming Motherboards and while they have 7 PCI-E slots I only use 5, the moment I run more I have issues with GPU's. 2 Rigs are running ASRock H81 PRO and are rock solid, no extra gimmigs you don't need in a rig, boots fast and reliabe. I am running 6 GPU's in these without problem! And they are only ~$74 ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157724I am not running the R2.0 version. GL and Happy Thanksgiving! I'm using this one Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX AM3+ Socket DDR3 1600 Motherboards (GA-970A-DS3P) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CX4MUCC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1only because i couldn't see me spending another 200 or so for a CPU that would actually be worth using and another 100 or so on a new board to match it and i have a CPU that fits that board any way plus i don't see a need to over clock the CPU mining with GPu's . i have no plans to take any rig over five cards untill the limits that can happen from going over five are fixed or unless i get a really nice deal next year when the new Zen CPU comes out by AMD and fixes it and it may. I like AMD over Intel all ways have and had two Intel 1155 socket PC's.

All motherboard on socket 1151 does not support more then 4 GPU. Chipset has 16 lanes PCIe. I have MB on z170a from MSI with 7 slot PCIe. Only 4 GPU work. I try to use PCIe splitter for use more then 4 GPU. MSI support answer to my question: "Ticket: Only 4 GPU is working properly on this motherboard. Why? Content: Regarding your concern, sorry to say that all of the 1151 socket MB can only support 4 VGA cards max. Thanks! Please do not change the subject if you reply directly, or you can login into https://register.msi.com/ to reply, Thank you."

According to the specification should work. But each manufacturer's own characteristics. To be sure, ask support MSI.

it should be i used the 1155 socket version of that board or was till i got the new board i linked above . look at the price first then look at the board that supports 6 or more cards from ASRock i think it called H81 btc something and may cost the same or was the other day on new egg if your only going to use the rig for mining and have the CPU to match the ASRock H81 btc i would go that route if i could find a reasonable priced h61 btc 1155 socket version i just messed buying one on Ebay the other day for 50 bucks shipped, i think it was I will buy one and get even more use out of my old 1155 socket cpu but that's me, i had to go another way because of what i had already and found at a good price. sigh now it's out of stock i should have bought it any way ,,, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157471&cm_re=ASRock_H81_btc-_-13-157-471-_-Product

Never heard of the H61 being good for mining. How many cards can they run at the same time? If they can do as many as the H81 with stable power consumption then I might go that route instead.

same board as the H81 only for the 1155 socket CPU but there was a h61 BTC version like the H81 btc but for the 1155 socket CPU i messed a really good deal on ebay, if you want one that old you can get it for a 100 bucks or more off some of the sites like Ebay . it has 6 slots like the H81 BTC . If i come across another one for 50 bucks I'll buy it and hope it still works, i know it gonna BE used but most MB sold as used were upgraded in most cases not because it was out dated or bad more because they wanted the latest and greatest etc . http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/h61%20pro%20btc/

Why you link to CA site instead of COM of Newegg? The com when I checked had them in stock at $69 when someone posted the link before but the CA never had any instock because they are not in the US but in Canada and they get their stock last after US site does.

Or you can buy one for yourself and buy one and sell it to me. Hehe! I doubt you would separate with it for that price anyways and would just put it on ebay for $200 like everybody else is.

yeah but how stable is Biostar compared to Asrock? After market support if the board fails? Remember you will be running these things 24/7 and if it overheads then it fries all your GPU's and that is a hefty bill to pay just to save a couple bucks instead of having a piece of mind with a competent brand name.

it even says lol
6 PCI Express slots mining motherboard
no idea how good Biostar is only had one my whole life and it was junk but that was many years ago, when MB were starting out and the top three company's were MSI ASUS and i forget the other one I think it was VIA when they sold there own brand or i got VIA boards as OEM. I had net 30 day account one time with a 20 k limit on it with one of the whole sellers, anyone could get, you can't now, I guess they lost to much doing it that way all you needed was a tax ID number to open one it was super easy to do .
it's the same price as the Asrock board i know Asrock are good boards i have owned a few with no issue unless your worried about the 10 dollar rebate .

Not a clue, but I have also heard of people very happy with the Biostar H81S2 motherboards, so I expect the reliability will be similar.
