Ledger is the most easiest to get a deal on. But I would wait on the next Trezor to jump on. Just too bad it is not available yet maybe by Christmas.

As fiscorcle said, Ledger wallets are perfect if your wish is to store little amounts of bitcoins. Furthermore, they have very good quality support if you face with any problem.

If I'm willing to store little amounts ? I thought hardware wallets are meant to be for big amounts and for long term (I see that ledger have 30 years lifespan), just like Paper wallets .

Ledger are small ones, usb wallets from the ones that I have seen. But I believe they have other iterations now from when they started selling them. Sure the hardware wallets such as Trezor were meant to hold large amounts of btc but I don't think many would want to put a big amount on a usb stick that the ledger one that I was thinking of.

Best wallet I tried and I recommend is KeepKey, they have a minimal and robust design, compatible with many Softwares, work on all OS - best investment ever.

Never heard of it. Can you post a link to their site? Closest thing I have found was something from Norton antivirus.

If you didn't mention about this I would of overseen it. I do hope it is cheaper than Trezor and as versatile as Ledger nano is. Now that would be an all-in-one solution for a hardware wallet.

I am not sure about the price, but for its quality, you have to spend some of your money.
Its electrum integration will make it the best tool you will have to secure your coins even if your PC is infected.

I personally don't use hardware wallet nor I want it as I think software wallets are secure enough and I don't need portability at all. However, here you can find interesting catalog of pretty much every significant bitcoin/altcoin wallet created up to date: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/#/overview?f0=HardwareHardware wallets are presented there too, interesting to note that only 1 Hardware Wallet supports altcoins - KeepKey Wallet.

"Little" is a relative term. Maybe 5 bitcoins are a small amount to him. I'd say if you're storing more than a bitcoin a hardware wallet would be a good idea. Anything less than that you could just use a paper wallet and not worry about tying up $100 (ish) on a hardware wallet.

If your budget is big enough, purchase few USB keys and divide all your coins upon those different keys.

If you mean that a Ledger USB is risky then what's the difference multiple Ledger USBs ? It's not that you can store the same bitcoin on multiple Ledger USBs like a wallet.dat backup on regular USBs. If the Ledger USB is lost then you can restore your bitcoins by buying another Ledger USB and write the 24 words seeds to restore the wallet.

You will get a better debate in Reddit about a review of both trezor and ledger but I think to prefer on nano ledger. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3d6ww3/its_time_for_a_hardware_wallet_should_i_go_for/Trezor looks good and you can show it to your friends. Ledger doesn't have as nice a UI but if you can get past that, it's fine. With Trezor, if you start putting in bad PINs, the time increases before you can try again. Trezor website claims that between the 19th and 20th try, it takes a week. With Ledger if you try three bad PIN attempts, the devices wipes clean and you have to reseed it. The one thing I like about Trezor over Ledger is that the PIN keypad is scrambled on the device. Also, when you reseed your Trezor your are prompted to put in your seeds not in sequential order. Enter seed three, enter seed fifteen, enter seed six, etc. That's a pretty nice security feature if you're being keylogged. Ledger simply presents the spaces and by habit, you would type them in sequentially. You could confuse a keylogger by putting the seeds in randomly.

But look at that one guy who was here earlier this year who buried his bitcoins that were on weather proof usb keys and is planning on digging them up in a decade or so to retrieve them. Now that is a brave thing to do relying on technology vs nature's wear like that.

I see that no one mentioned Opendime or Casewallet which is weird a little bit but now and after seeing your recommendations , I may choose one between Trezor and Legder but I will probably wait for Trezor 2 In case I will be buying it since It may contain more features, speaking about Ledger too , what are the differences between it and t "S" version except that It has Ethereum and Ethereum classic support ?
