Hi,
I intend to build some rigs to mine using NiceHash, and I'm thinking to choose between the following GPUs:
GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, 135€ GTX 1060 3GB, 186€ RX 470 4GB, 176€ RX 480 4GB, 210€
Kw/h, 0'12€
Which one would you choose? Why? Should I consider other GPUs? Would you use a different software?
Thanx!

AMD community is stronger now. Better miners, ROM mods, which alloys you to play with hash and power And almost noting for Nvidia :-(

I think AMD cards are still the most favourite and popular . Almost miners are using this card. and I'm using it everyday

Hey man, I have a similar issue, but here are my ideas. 1. NVidia is a no go for now, not nearly as fast for mining as the AMD Cards 2. RX 470 and RX 480 are almost as good 3. Basically you can run 6 RX 470s on a single 1000/1100w PSU 3. Basically you can run 6 RX 480s on a single 1200/1300w PSU I'm planning on doing 2 RIGS, 1 with 6x470s and another with 6x480s and see which is better for me.

Definitely go for AMD. I'm planning to buy some as well. Right now I use Nitro 380 but I'm looking to buy 480.
Good luck,

Looking at prices in your country, i would go for RX 470. Noticeable difference in speed between 470 and 480 is when 480 have 8gb of memory. Since both of your cards have 4gb it's just not worth it to go with 480s

Now that you bring that up, I have a question: Which Setup would be better? 6x RX 470 4GB with 1000w PSU OR 6x RX 480 8GB with 1200w PSU

Thank you all for posting! Do you know why 480 8GB is faster? I'm new mining, and I don't know too much, as far as I understand vram memory is used tu allocate the DAG file, but if DAG file is smaller than 4GB what is the upside? I can buy RX 480 with 8GB of XFX for 225€, SAPPHIRE for 235€ or MSI and GIGABYTE for 245€, but I read that XFX is not recommendable. Regards

Ones say that RX 480 4gb is completely same to RX 480 8gb just with less memory. Other ones say that 480 with 8gb memory can be overclocked higher than 4gb version and you get more performance that way. I remember reading about this on ETH forum. If i find thread link i'll edit this post

Regards The 8GB models are faster mainly cause the 8GB Memory is also clocked faster, they are not only larger in capacity, they are also faster in clocks. Most 4GB models for the RX 4[70/80] are clocked at 1750 Mhz, and most of the 8GB variants are clocked at 2000 Mhz

Compare price difference with performance gain. I can't do calculations atm, but if performance gain is 20% maybe 20% price increase will work for you. You should also take into consideration power consumption when calculating this

€0.12/kwh , don't you think your electricity price require some thinking and calculations before you buy any hardware, i mean if the profitability of mining returns to the past rates (weeks ago) $1/card you will be roughly making any profit....
