Is it possible to find out where buyers and sellers are, as well as volume? I'm curious to find out where these price jumps originate.

Price jumps have nothing to do with buying/selling.
They originate from mainstream press coverage and speculation.

Biggest marketplace Silk Road monthly volume is few millions.
