The post is clearly in the email side, and honestly I admit that I am too. I especially agree with the part that email has the subject field, that ease a LOT prioritizing work. Aside from that, slack and every kind of chat simply create a shared workplace where everybody speaks and I cannot concentrate on work (very personal opinion). I know that a lot of people use it by turning off instant notifications, but then, what is the point to use chat groups, if I need to afterwards read a backlog of 100-200 different messages, and most of the time I simply don't want to? I'm interested in listening opinions of other users about this new tool (slack) that was supposed to completely replace email.
