Guy is legit. Worth the purchase! The laptops are a 3rd gen i7 too not 2nd gen which definitelly added value. You can get a precision online with similar stats for about 400 500 via ebay and amazon too though.

Luckily i didnt get ripped off but just for future reference how do we use escrow? He asked if i knew and i do not... I have heard of it but i dont know a trusted place to work with...

I escrow.

OgNasty escrows.

If you look at my trust or OgNasty's trust we have done this often.

I would charge 1% and 0.0005 for tx fees.

So. The cost for a 0.5 pc is.  0.5 + .005 + .0005 or .5055 total

I hold the 0.5 until the buyer gets the gear. The buyer has 1 day to test it.

I release the 0.5 to the seller.

Or if the gear is doa I hold the coin the buyer returns the gear. Once seller gets a return I refund the buyer.

This is fantastic... And yes it looks like you have done this for people before. I would be most interested in working with you to make this a little easier on everyone. Should I just PM you when I have a sale?

Furthermore what happens if someone gets the machine and they strip it and send it back... I hate to say it but it does happen...

And to the faker guy above... buy a computer and see for yourself! We really appreciate your valuable information though...

easy enough to prove. package sent will have net weight and if return package is significantly differnt then its easy enough to prove that it was stripped assuming it wasnt sent in that condition

You can strip the processor ram and the dedicated pci-e gfx chip without losing any weight... and the variance could be attributed to the scammer not adding as much packing material back in. We lost some money on ebay due to this method of fraud... I think they call it return fraud. But anyhow we will just have to hope for the best in our fellow BTC believers right Wink

Thanks for your help again Smiley

Re-read how escrow works. He would not give the money back to the seller until you've confirmed you've received the gear back. Wouldn't make sense for the buyer to do what you are saying since then the BTC will be sent to you by the escrow. That's why it is safest for all involved.

So the item is 0.5BTC or $100 shipped like stated in post? little confusing...because 100$ is like 0.13BTC atm...
Would be nice if you clarify and maybe post some photos...and use escrow...just sayin'
cheers

Basically if the buyer takes the notebook and ships you back a bag of bricks there is very little you can do. That's something that happens on Paypal from time to time. Its rare and an asshole move so most people don't pull it. It usually happens with high end Apple notebooks usually.

No idea how Phil would deal with this issue since who can you trust? The buyer? The seller? The shipping company?

My advice, since its Christmas just list it on Craigslist and sell it there if you are worried.

Would you mind linking me to that other post, then? Didn't see it on here, may be interested in a desktop depending on the specifications of the desktop. Was a bit confusing to talk about the desktop when you didn't even list the specs on this thread. :/

To answer the seller about a bad return. I do case by case. If the buyer is a new guy with no prior record I tend to side with the seller.

Let's say we do 10 sales and 9 are good the 10th is a return and it is legit.

This would show me you are a good seller.

So sale 11 happens the buyer returns a gutted laptop.

I am going to side with you the seller.

Let's say you do 10 sales and four people say the gear was bad. And I happen to know a few of the people from prior business or escrow most likely I will side with them.

Once you do enough good sales most people would no longer want escrow and you can then trade freely like I do .

Getting started as a seller here takes 5-10 good deals a few trust points from good sale etc.

If you get a buyer that wants gear from you send me a pm.  As to who pays the escrow more often then not the buyer pays the escrow fee.
I can say at this point in time every escrow I did either ended in a good sale or a good return.

And to that I say good deal! I am looking but most of the people here so far are not interested in these dated computers so it seems.... We still have some more stuff that will get put on here soon though...

Anyone have any interest in 1TB 7200 RPM Desktop and laptop hard drives?

Also have a ton of DDR 3 laptop and desktop ram...
