actually it is depressing to see people still think market cap is a worthy comparison for altcoins! let me break it down for you. ETH has 86.5 million coins and only a small amount of it is available to public and the rest is controlled by the owners who manipulate it. and because of this huge available coins the market cap is "artificially grown"

the same thing goes for any other altcoin which has ridiculous amount of coins available to "artificially increase" their market cap.

the things to look at is neither market cap nor price. and if you want to compare you have to consider many factors at the same time a combination of price, volume, premine, daily volume and how it has changed, code, ...

I would say that in the long run ethereum price would crash as the foundation would sell it to meet their expenses. I don't think it would go above 15 to 20 $ unless we see some big Dapp getting released and gaining attention of the people.

It will continue to rise. The fewer exchanges something is listed on the easier it is to manipulate. If it's primarily traded on one particular American exchange it's even easier to drive up the price.

Look at the following link. When the ETH price was being driven up, 97 percent of it was being traded on Poloniex. It eventually was included on so many exchanges that it was harder to manipulate the price upwards. In fact when it started being traded on Gemini and Coinbase it was so widely traded that it has been on a downward trend ever since (and will continue to do so).

I have came to the conclusion that no matter who says these coins are scams, these newbs will still pour their money into it.  I feel bad for everyone involved in these altcoins.  Stick to btc and ltc.

as i have always said Ethereum needs to stay around for a while before we can even speculate about its future. other coins like XMR have been around for a long time and have established their position in the altcoin world but new coins like ETH are newcomers full of hype and pumps and these coins which are full of hot air are also running out of hot air as fast as they go up.

Ethereum is 1.5 year old. Monero at that point of time was lowest. But that was also because of low value of BTC a year ago.

Ethereum price grow quite fast and reached even $20. Anyone with at least a bit of brain could realise, that that cant hold for long. There are just to many coins in existence and rate of pumping new coins is just to big.
Price of Ethereum will continue to decrease, till it will reach bottom. For premined, crowdsale, ICO coins that can take quite some time.


Even in case of Monero where all coins were fairly mined with quite high inflation in first year, it took more then a year to reach bottom.

LISK do have potential but i dont think it could able to go over Monero on rankings and we could all see that xmr is being used on dark net and its already understandable that it could even grow even more.Looking on the situation of ETH its really a normal thing for me and its the best time to buy now.

these are my opinion about the current situation:

* monero has a lot more usages that ethereum can ever have
* monero has been around much longer
* monero has been keeping its price up all these times and most interestingly it has been keeping the price up even though all other altcoins were dropping because of bitcoin price rise.
* these days anonymous transactions are the hot topic which makes monero like gold.

* eth has been a pump and dump coin from the start
* eth has not much to offer with it flawed code
* eth was in a bubble which had to burst some time.
