I have heard some things about that miner. One man told me that this hardware is very profitable even if you pay high costs in electricity. It's price is between 500-800$. Also there was some topics on dash forum. Also you can use pinidea miner, as I know they have better trust, can't say more about baikal because they aren't so famouse.

I'm also interested in baikal miner, if it really can support six algorithms. Roll Eyes

I would like to get one for playing. But I have found there are so many place are selling this machine,

this one: https://www.asicminermarket.com/product/x11-asic-baikal-mini-miner-spec/
---is this a scam? seems more like a reseller.

this: http://www.baikalminer.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=466
--- it looks like more official, but I tried to order from their website, but the price keep showing 1 cny, and no answer from them.

as well as many on alibaba.......   and the price is really in big difference from them. anyone that already have one could help please?

ban,

Baikal miner will have pretty long term roi, but it's a nice new miner to use and buying direct, the sellers have great communication. With lots of algorithms available to use on the miners roi is nearly but not completely guaranteed, although note that it will likely take more than a year to make your money back. I'd go check it out if I were you.

Pinidea makes great miners, but cost is high compared to the baikal ones and the other miner they offer doesn't do much.

it's better if you buy a gpu rig miner than asic, more profit less cost and you will roi eventually, and in any case it has a much better resale value

Plus it isn't limited to specific algorithms for mining so you can mine a bit of everything.

When in doubt, dig it out.

That is right. You can also sell it if you do not want to mine. The ASIC will have no resale value after a year.

Well, still not entirely true. Don't hate on ASICs that much, guys! A miner can still have nice resale after ROI is reached as people with free electricity or just resellers start to buy them up- this has been true with the S7. GPU rigs do have better resale, durability, and more uses than an ASIC, though, so it's a relatively clear path to gpu mining for now.

For the ASIC such as S3 and S5, if you do not have free electricity, they are not profitalbe to mine at the moment.

That could be said for s7 too. With 0.06 $ per kW electricity cost (which is considered medium to low) S7 makes about 40$ per month profit, and they are still being sold for 400-500$. Can't even image what would case be with s3 and s5 (less than 5-10$ per month or smth like that...)

@OP That tells you that investing in asics is not so good idea if you want only few of them.
