I have an Avalon 6 here that has a blinking red LED and gets hot. It doesn't mine and not recognized by the rpi. Did anyone have a similar issue?

Try reflashing the MM firmware with the device connected. The controllers are hard to brick and this will usually recover them if you cannot connect to the miner.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it.

make sure to use the latest MM if you do, it can be very easy to brick if you use any MM update below 2 MB in size trust me i bricked 2 internal controllers using a MM update that was below 2 MB, i noticed the size to late on two internal controllers when i did a update because I thought i had a bad A6, come to find out the issue was the batch it would never hash over 3.1 th it does now after bricking two internal controllers, my PSU had to be a server PSU not the ATX PC type . ... it can be very easy to Brick one if you use the wrong size MM . just a tip . other wise there right, you all most can not hurt a A6.....

Thanks top

Avalon
1. does the fan to the avalon come on?
2. does the fan to the psu come on?
3. using one psu plug it into the side that you see green lights from the board. (psu 850 will work for testing one board at a time).
4. psu could be bad.

Rpi
1. rpi connect to your laptop, and see if you can access it using a ethernet cable connected between the rpi and laptop
2. Is the sdcard bad
3. did the ip address change or internet settings?

I speak to you with common issues and may be able to help. My Avalon has what caanan say was a bad board. During the summer I blewout the outlet , fryed and could of caused a fire. Thought my board was bad and ignored messages from the miner status than said psu might be bad.
Bought a Avalon 7 plugged my psu in and same thing nothing powers red lights couldn't believe another bad board. Well looking carefully at the psu noticed that 1 of the 2 pcie cables was melted and stuck plugged into the psu.
