Some entity is spamming the network with thousands of transactions.

Don't worry, the 1MB anti-spam feature is doing it's job protecting every Bitcoin user now and forever by preventing this entity's spam from bloating the block chain. They know this, will give up soon, and everything will return to normal.

If you need a fast confirmation in the meantime, simply pay a higher fee than the spam.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

It happened just last week too but I think it was half that amount.
33,000 is a huge number especially when one of them is yours.
Just like mine are. Angry

Thanks!
I thought it was some sort of attack or something.
i was just paying some debts and buying things with bitcoins and got worried, but every TX i send was accepted in the first block so yeah, you are right... as soon as we pay a decent fee, we are ok Smiley

thanks again Smiley

One of my payment got stuck in this and not confirmed since yesterday. It is almost 24 hours already.

I had contacted the sender, but they said they couldn't do anything because of it, not their problem. I have to wait and see how long it takes. It is a good example that bitcoin transactions not always fast compared to traditional way of sending money because now I don't know when I will receive my coins and no one can answer that question correctly.

This is the problem with blockchain. You shouldn't ask the sender to choose the fee instead fix some minimum fee to transfer money then give equal preference for all transactions and should do first come first serve basis.

I've been seeing a lot of people on bitcoin gambling sites complaining about their inability to withdraw or deposit funds quickly because their transactions are just getting stuck in an already-clogged blockchain. Something's gotta change one way or another.

Chances are it is someone spamming the network to be honest, a majority of the time that's the issue anyways.

If there is ever a sudden surge in transaction volume, chances are it means someone is spamming the network with transactions of some form or another.

Unless the value of Bitcoin starts changing rapidly, that's the only scenario where I can see a surge in transaction volume.

Nup. Just the usual blockchain spam of small inputs. Don't worry, it'll be gone soon. However don't expect too much from the blockchain from this very moment, as even if you pay the required fees to get "very high priority" status on blockchain.info, you may still have to wait over 24 hours to get a single confirmation on your bitcoin transaction. I suggest you look at paying double the usual fees, and using more aged coins instead of newer ones.

All the best to you.

Even if that is true, that would not be a problem if bitcoin network wasn't saturated already... that attack wouldn't succeed then, but it did :/.

Transactions getting stuck, users can't send coins, and yet the price continues to go up?
WTF is going on with the price of BTC right now?  Huh

Well thats not good but it is just someone is spamming in the bitcoin network thats why almost a thousand unconfirmed transactions but bitcoin network could handle that thing so no need to worry but we can know that it will lead to delays. So lets just stay, watch and chill.

Yes, your transaction has deprioritized, Nobody has noticed caused by spamming the priority fees was getting an increase.

Yeah it happens. I remember my transaction before it got 1 confirmation it takes about a day. It was when the block-chain has a problem in their site and there are lots of high priority transactions and those normal ones where stucked unconfirmed.

It is always occurred and don't get surprised. The volume of the demand of btc is inflating that's why a lot of transaction is stocked . It was happened lately and i think this will continue until early next year because this the season where people usually sent money to other relatives and i think btc is popular now in terms of money remittances. That is also the reason why is the btc keep on inflating while a lot of transaction is still unconfirmed

I think that the main problem here is that it is not clear HOW MUCH TX to pay in a given moment.

the bar in the qt wallet that set the level of TX fee is not clear at all, if i need to make sure the TX will get through how much should i pay, how do i calculate that, the wallet should solve that problem for us!, but it is not realistic at all the TX setting on it.

the other issue is that miners decided not to vote for segwit AFAIK so it has not been activated, that will probably allow to increase 2x the level of tx that a block can have, not ideal, but a big difference compared with right now.

i had tx in the past stuck for 24 hours but they always get through eventually.

3 hours ago blockchain.info reported 1.6 TX per second, now we are at 0.69 tx per second Sad   <- Blockchain.info hiccup, not real.

Actually since the bulk of the spam is not mined there is little or no cost to the spammer. On the other hand the nodes end up relaying and storing the spam. The 1 MB blocksize actually encourages this kind of spam attack by limiting the cost in fees to the spammer.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Same as yours i do get normal fast transactions but these kind of news pops out every now and then on which spam transactions are happening thats why some of my transfer do take long hours before it confirms and i decided to put up high fees to be prioritize it somehow works but not the same when there are less unconfirmed transactions. Its very hassle for sometimes.

Yup, it is because of spamming attacking but it was decrease from 33000 become lower, and network of bitcoins will be normal again.
