http://imgur.com/a/tQLljHi goatpig, are there any interferences with ArmoryQt,bitcoind and Armory DB and securitysoftware like Windows Defender or Avira Pro with their real-time scanning?(Firewall is allowing the apps) Because sometimes I miss some blockfiles as you can see here: http://imgur.com/WJCoeHZIam currently make the most extreme factory reset and the blocks are following in a row without any gaps.

Please post armorylog.txt and dbLog.txt. Is your harddrive running out of free space? Hi goatpig, are there any interferences with ArmoryQt,bitcoind and Armory DB and securitysoftware like Windows Defender or Avira Pro with their real-time scanning?(Firewall is allowing the apps) Because sometimes I miss some blockfiles as you can see here: http://imgur.com/WJCoeHZA few years ago someone pushed some data in a signature that was flagged by some anti virus software. This resulted in some block data files getting quarantined. The issue has since then be reported as a false positive and you should not experience it anymore. You can verify yourself if your block files are sequential. As for the block building report, that output is not meant to be exhaustive. It will only report when the first thread (among many) parses a block file, hence the gaps in the logs.

Open your log files. Go to http://pastebin.com/ and copy and paste the contents of each log file into a new paste. If it is too big, get as much of the log file as you can from the bottom. Then post the link to the paste here.

Copy and paste your log files into the big box on the front page. Then scroll down and click the button that says "Create new paste". It will load a page with your paste. Click on the URL in your browser and copy and paste that into a post here.

Ignore the sequential part, it is not a bug, just the code not going out of its way to report every file it scans. The DB looks fine. Run ArmoryQt.exe, the post the whole armorylog.txt.

Too many log files. Delete armorylog.txt, armorycpplog.txt and dbLog.txt. Then run Armory again, then post the new logs. BtW: Databasebuilder parsed file #700 How many blockfiles are still to come?
Build is done, run ArmoryQt, it will start scanning.

Either let it finish scanning, or import the wallet in offline mode, then restart in online mode.

Somehow I managed to get a watch-only copy installed in Armory.I have no offline option of armory at my laptop-programms. While building databases I got suddenly the notification (this happened already sometimes before) ArmoryQt does not work. So I decided to make a factory reset (the lighest option) and now I am waiting for the result I will report .
Edit:what is the reason for Armory does not work? How to fix it?

That's the most extreme option... You should refrain from trying to fix a problem you do not understand. If run into a roadblock, the best thing to do is to post your log files here and wait for a response.

After the admonishment from goatpig (thanks for you patience with me-I am 71 old-) Iwould us an extreme option and I should not have used things I am not nerx familiar with I dit the following. The next day I run Armory from 8 AP to 16 PM but nothing happend at the building databases Armorx-Display nor on the Scanninh Tanasaction History. I let Armory run up to today ,nor progress Here some logs: http://pastebin.com/AB9rzaQ7 Log file opened at 1481182087: C:\Users\Thomas\AppData\Roaming\Armory\armorycpplog.txt Log file opened at 1481212719: C:\Users\Thomas\AppData\Roaming\Armory\armorycpplog.txt armory ccplog http://pastebin.com/b1K1Y77Y Armorylog The beginning of the file (Armoylog) I got o cut some datas because data overflow for pastebin Again thanks to goatpig as archow101 as well and my greatest appreciation for yor patience with me als old man Now I am still running Armory and waiting for a miracle

Your database and blockchain data look fine so far.
Start ArmoryQt in offline mode, in Files -> Settings, turn off auto bitcoind management (the first checkbox), then shut it down.
Next, start BitcoinQt, let it catch up. Then start ArmoryQt in online mode.

Looks like your last block data file is damaged. First, shutdown Armory. Make sure ArmoryDB.exe is not running. If it is, terminate the process. Next, open the command prompt, type in these commands: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory\
ArmoryDB.exe --thread-count=1
Last, start ArmoryQt. Then, post log files again.

you said some posts before:
Next, start BitcoinQt, let it catch up
Does that mean,if this is done, I can shut down BitcoinQt because Armory in online will shutdown BircoinQt and run bicoind in the backgrund?

When I type in cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory\
ArmoryDB.exe --thread-count=1
the command prompt line shows me always C:\Users\Thomas> and when I execute these command,it says ...file cannot be found...
becasuse the command line starts with C:\Users\Thomas> and not empty or at least C:
What does the cd before C:\Program Files(86).... mean? or how can I give the laptop the right way, where armory and Armory DB.exe ist installed.

The cd means change directory. It tells the command prompt to go to that folder.
Instead of doing the cd command, open up the file explorer and go to wherever you have armory installed. Then click on an empty spot in the file explorer and hold Shift then right click. Choose the option "Open a command window here". Then type the second command with ArmoryDB.

Thanks for the Help my trouble makes. I did what you recommended .It looks like this in the CommandPropmt C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory>ArmoryDB.exe --thread-count=1 With the above Line do I have to do something now or just start Armory? is the sign > before ArmoryDH.exe.. right? Next question:Do I have to start Armory on-or offline? ?? Which way?

Hit enter. There should be some output on the console. Leave it open and wait for a message about "enable zero-conf tracking". Then start Armory normally while the console is still open.

http://pastebin.com/shAPsajHit is in scanning transaction mode now. But no connection with bitindJparsonnode, because in one of the last advices I should Start ArmoryQt in offline mode, in Files -> Settings, turn off auto bitcoind management (the first checkbox), then shut it down. Next, start BitcoinQt, let it catch up. Then start ArmoryQt in online mode. When I opened now Armory it was still in the offlinemode because before opening armory and mark the box let Armory run bitcoinid in the background it is still in the offline mode Armory is now running offline,as the task-Manager indicates. Can I shut down now Armory and start again in online mode? Do I have to do the commandpromt again, the way ,you, archow 101 told me,before I start Armory online? Sorry for the many questions, but goatpig ticked me off (quite righly),because I was doing things I do not understand.

Uncheck that box. Stop Armory. Close the command prompt with ArmoryDB.
Start Bitcoin Core. Let it run until it is fully synced. Once it is keep it running and repeat the steps I gave for running the ArmoryDB command in a command prompt. Then start Armory while both ArmoryDB and Bitcoin core are still running.

But now the Armorysreen shows a green bar in the databasebuilding and now is in the scanning Transaction History mode. Wille wait till tomorrow and report

Delete your databases folder. Run ArmoryDB with --db-type=DB_BARE. Don't have time to elaborate, leaving for the day.

It looks like Bitcoin Core is not fully synced. You have no connections and the Armory logs seem to indicate that you may have a corrupted block. Can you please give me the debug.log file from Bitcoin Core? Go to Help > Debug Window and there is a button that says "Open" which will open the debug.log file.

I don't know why it is not getting any connections. You can try connecting to my node. You can try connecting to my node. In that debug window, go to the Console tab and in the box at the bottom, type then hit enter. If it works, you should see that you now have one connection.

I've been following this thread and it seems that there is a lot of difficulty communicating. Clearly there is a language barrier. Without clear communication, it is extremely difficult to get things accomplished.
Now, here is what I would do to simplify things and almost guarantee a working result.
1. Make sure you have backups of your wallet files. 2. Remove everything Bitcoin related on your PC. Uninstall Armory and Core and delete all associated folders entirely. 3. Install the latest version of Bitcoin Core and let it sync with the network. Forget about Armory until Bitcoin Core is functioning properly and has the most up to date block. 4. Install the latest version of Armory, start it and disable autobitcoind management. Shut it down, copy your wallet file to the appropriate location and then restart Armory and let it do it's thing.
(Extreme version: Prior to those steps, start with a fresh Windows install on your computer.)
If these simple steps do not work, then there is some underlying issue with your OS or hardware. If you are incapable of accomplishing these relatively simple steps or any of this seems confusing to you, read until it's no longer confusing. Perhaps try to find some youtube videos that explain how to get Core synced and running and then Armory running.
If none of that works, start armory in offline mode (unplug your internet if need be) and extract the private keys. Import those keys into a wallet which requires less technical know-how to use.
Finally, if you still can't figure out how to access your bitcoins, pay someone who understands this stuff to do it for you.
Bitcoin has a relatively high bar when it comes to user responsibility. The user is supposed to know how to use the software provided in order to protect and access his private keys. Many people use this software successfully, so when I see a thread where this level of difficulty is experienced, I have to think that there is some underlying issue that is preventing the user from accomplishing his goals.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

Hello Holliday, there are always barriers of Language: A laptop/PC expert speaks his own language, one not so tech-savvy wo`nt understand it fully A patient will no clearly understand my diagnostic procedures,my treatment and even not the illness itself in regard of its ramifications.
And because I am an retired physician(71 years old,but very bitcoin enthusiastic) I beg you all to write plain "step by step"
I will try your proposals, but for various reasons I think it is an underlying issue with my OS and/hardware.
I already contacted DELL-Support(again, but they could not resolve my problems all ). I am going to send the Laptop to the factory and let it thoroughly checked and repaired.
I thank you all guys for your patience with me,your help and your ideas.
Big appreciation from me. I will report later.

Laptops, due to their power saving features, are going to have a more difficult time with the Bitcoin Core software. Syncing the block chain will always take longer on a laptop when compared to a similar generation/tier desktop. I, personally, would not allow hardware that has had Bitcoin private keys with any sizeable amount on them to be accessed by random, unknown individuals. Are you using an online/offline setup (which I would assume considering we are on the Armory sub-forum)? If the laptop has only had "watch only" wallets on it, you should be fine.

First of all, please do not hijack months old threads with your own issues. Make your own thread instead. Your blockchain looks like it is corrupted. If you run just Bitcoin Core, does it sync properly and not give you any errors?

I decided posting here since its still in the same line with Armory DB stop. Bitcoin Core is still synchronizing. Could that be the reason for the error?

Possibly. Let bitcoin core finish syncing first before running armory.
