IMHO more than 1 million views is quite mainstream...next time post something which barely reaches 100 views
1,000,000 views total on YouTube, which is one of the only outlets for listening, doesn't even compare to mainstream music reach with 100's millions of people viewing online, being played on the radio, and constantly being talked about by the media. Any good music (good lyrics, actual creativity and imagination) is going to most likely have some views.
Mainstream is a bunch of rich people working together to help each other get richer. Lyrics are written by other people and produced by someone who isn't even a singer, just because of the individual's popularity. Some music is still good, but the majority is just horrible lyrics/style/copycats.
Any music that might have been popular 30+ years ago, any music/videos that goes against the general norms of the music world, focus on lyrics and style rather than just being flashy, anything that's not mainstream feel free to post...
