do you know of any tools to generate public/private keys and related bitcoin address? the bit coin address is just an encrypted hash of the public key but what does it really mean? One hashes the public key and than encrypts it? but, encrypts with what? it can't be encrypted with the private key so what is it encrypted with?

I am asking for if one is able to generate Watch-Only bitcoin addresses to receive bitcoins one can enhance the security of one's wallet. What do you think?

You can do that with the standard client, or Armory (quite enhanced, deterministic wallets with proper entropy etc), or even this:  https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org

to answer a part of my own question: here is the process of generating the bitcoin address out of the private/public key pair: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Technical_background_of_version_1_Bitcoin_addresses

the question of the tools to generated the keys and the address still remain.

Also PHPCoinAddress, which can generate bitcoin and other public/private keys in pure PHP.
