Could we start a thread that just posts news and rumors about shipping status of the three companies that could possibly ship ASICs this summer?   Like a place to post what BFL throws out in the shout box that we may miss on their status or if Friedcat posts something more solid on the 50TH auction or if an avalon batch II starts showing up at someone's door?

Just string about current rumors or facts and opinions on them.

As example, Josh at BFL had said on Saturday that he expected to have final firmware yesterday or today (monday april 8th).   Vacuum since then.   And has said that they have two more units running in the office and that Luke Jr.'s unit is rock solid and now is up to 30GH

Avalon - Shipped and is building more units.

Butterfly Labs - May be a scam (highly likely)

GXMining - Definitely a scam

BFL is definitely a SCAM, and if people can't get this into their heads, they might as well give away their wife/husbands and kids as well.

Red text makes it true.

Yes, they're late as fuck, disorganised and incompetent, but compared to all the actual scams on the list, they actually have an office (and several community members have been there), they actually shipped FPGA products previously, and there's pretty clear evidence that they (finally) have chips that work, other than using much more power than planned. And yet, whenever their site goes down to a DDOS, there's people posting, worried about how they've finally run off with the money or some shit.

The level of paranoia on this forum is somewhere between sad and amusing.

and if people can't get this into their heads, they might as well give away their wife/husbands and kids as well.

When someone doesn't have the same beliefs as you, it's not a lack of ability to "get it into their head". I would suggest reading up on how people form beliefs before declaring everyone who disagrees with you to be a lost cause.

It is true that only Avalon has demonstrated the ability to ship ASICs in quantity.

As much as I'd like to believe BFL's claims (for network security purposes).  I still cannot say I am convinced they have a working product yet.  That picture and video isn't enough to convince me.

You make me laugh almost as much as grnbrg.   too funny.   quantity.
but I would correct the other post to say that friedcat has pretty much proven that he can make 7TH worth of asics no?

It wouldn't be the first time.
