I forgot the password I used for my Electrum wallet.

Although I do have the 12 words generated, I cannot find how to recover my password.

What would be the procedure?

Thanks so much!

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I'm not an Electrum expert, so I can't explain how to recover your wallet, but my understanding is that as long as you have the correct 12 words, it should be possible to rebuild the entire wallet.  As such, there is no reason to fear/panic yet.  I'll link to your post in the Electrum discussion forum so that hopefully an Electrum expert will see it and respond for you.

Find your electrum.dat wallet file. Here is how to find it https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Electrum#Wallet_File

Rename it

Run Electrum and select the Restore option
