Are the avalon asics legit, it seems as if only 3 have been shipped out?

Avalon is currently the most legitimate ASIC on the market.

Aside from ASICMINER. But yeah, as far as hardware you can hold and own goes... Avalon is the most legit. They are the only ones who have shipped anything so far.

A lot more than 3 have shipped out; take a look at this difficulty chart to see how rapidly the network hashrate (and difficulty) has been increasing: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/
Unfortunately they're not readily available unless you're willing to pay an insane amount (>$20k) for one.

Looks like there's one being auctioned off on Bitmit for 15 BTC with only 3 hours to go: https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/24467-avalon-bitcoin-miner-65gh-s-asic#

The seller hasn't been verified, though, and has no ratings. Caveat emptor.

i know they r the MOST legit, but is that legit enough for a small timer who cant wait tooooo long, as 15,000$ is alot to put forth. can  someone give clear proof more than three have ship out, cuz THeY might beusing them hence the increase but ive  only seen three confirme recieve asics.

I'm back.

BTCBUDDY1 please do a little research before posting useless threads. a simple look through the Custom hardware forum would give you the answer. here i will make it easy for you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.0

they actually shipped full batch 1 aka 300 units.

At this point there's no certainty Avalon will offer a Batch 4 or when that might happen.  They're the most legitimate in terms of having shipped hundreds of orders, but you can't just order from them whenever your feel like it and no-one can say right now when Batch 4 orders might open.  Whether or not you can "wait too long" is kind of irrelevant, because when you can order and when you can expect delivery from any ASIC vendor is totally outside of your control.  You're likely looking at a delivery date a few months in the future no matter who you order from.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Avalons are like Ferraris - you don't set the time and place of ordering and delivery - they do.  If you want one sign up for their newsletter and hope for a Batch 4.

If you want some mining rewards but don't want to GPU Mine buy ASICMiner shares in the marketplace subforum.

If you're gutsy buy BFL's cheaper but riskier devices that might ship before end of the year if you order now.
