just stumbled upon this, it is on the front page of vimeo.com. it is not exactly press but i think it fits into this subforum the best.

http://vimeo.com/63502573

great video, it explains the basic way bitcoin works and how it can be used. mention on wordpress and a growing economy, but also darknet, especially silk road.

only con: slightly outdated, as it mentiones a block reward of 50 BTC

I didn't like this one. It's well made, but it's really not noob-friendly.

All the intros to bitcoin these days have to totally get rid of the technical details. Seriously, technical details are great for getting an early and excited community up and running, but technical details don't sell.

We're in the stage of getting every-day normal people to start using bitcoins. Miners, inflation, network technologies, etc. are the back-end. Every-day users want the front end. Smartphone apps, qr codes, zapping money across the world at the speed of the internet.

i guess you're right, but compared to others this one sticks to the very basics. no mention of private keys etc.

I don't think it explains the technical details very well. For example, it doesn't explain why there's mining.

Still really cool.  Linked it out to my more techie friends.  Nice job to the creator!

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

Nice graphics / futuristic effects - but could use some fact-checking/updating:

- Pleeeeez no more mention of the defunct / never-released Canadian MintChip (unless it's a Ben & Jerry's press release)
- Should be 25 btc mining reward (since Nov.)
- 70 USD/BTC was very short-lived
