Hi Guys

Based in the UK and have a few S7 miners, one fan is starting to make a noise so i had a quick look on Ebay for one and was SHOCKED to see only US stockists at a stupid price !!!!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-Antminer-S4-120mm-Fan-4500rpm-20in-cables-4pins-connector-/231569988051?hash=item35eaa599d3:g:xysAAOSwpdpVXtT5

Is there a cheaper option ?

Anyone advise ??

Thanks

Delta QFR1212GHE are the standard replacements. Ive just bought two from www.eyeboot.com (Klintay on this forum) arrived in a few days. Both run well and have good length leads.

Ive got one that I bought second hand to try it before I committed to buying a pair of new ones. Trouble is its got a short lead so needs an extension and ive cut away some plastic as it came fitted with a 6pin plug (its only got 4 wires as required so cut the plug down very carefully).

Id be happy to let it go for £10 if you wanted it? I can post pictures if you want to see it aswell.

I cant find them for less than $15 each, even in bulk. If someone knows a good source for these for $10 or less that would be nice. I could handle minimum quantities of 50-100 fans for that price. Me and some friends have a bunch of S7 units with fans that are all slowly dying one at a time.

You're not going to find a replacement in the $10 range with comparable airflow - and even at wholesale pricing I doubt you'll find something comparable for $15 each.

You COULD try using AFB series Deltas instead, but they're not designed for the high back pressure that the S7 (and S9) design puts on a fan and might not flow as much even if they're RATED to do so at zero backpressure.

Tried an AFB on my S9 wasn't good. Ran at half the speed of the QFR.

Are the cable colours the same ? I would just use the plug/cables of a broke fan to lengthen them....

If so i will have it for £10...

Cheers

The wire colours aren't quite the same but black is GND, red is 12v and the pwm and tach are the same way round as the Antminer fans. From the second picture you can see what I mean about trimming the plug down to fit. Just make sure it's the right way around when you use an extension (if you still want it of course). But the pins are offset so should be self explanatory Wink
