My PSU is a Corsair CX750m watt and as it says in the title I am using a Antminer s5, but my problem is that the psu does not start up on launch but antminer shows power and connects, but it also beeps very loud. I think it has something to do with a 8 prong CPU cord that is by the 24. Thanks.

Also I was wondering, if I split them using a dual like a 8 pin to 4 connector how would I connect them? Thanks

Well you only need PCiE connections to power the S5 so not sure what you're doing with a CPU connector...  DON'T use it, +12 and COM are reversed and you will smoke something for sure. How do I know? Nevermind...! Roll Eyes

It's not that i'm trying to use that cpu to power the antminer, the antminer works fine with the PCI-E cord, it's that I that I think it needs to be powered by this extra cord that has no room else where. Would I have to buy a new PSU?

From what I remember about the S5 it needs four pcie cables attached to the four plugs on the top. That's it. You don't need to use all the cables on the PSU. You need to use a jumper wire on the 24pin plug to get it to switch on and power up.

Your miner has power but the power supply doesn't start? That's not even possible.
You're probably handling the 24pin plug incorrectly.

Look up the jumper wire trick like gt_addict said.
