Most countries (every country that I know of) do not have laws about running a Bitcoin node. You won't get arrested for running it. Bitcoin node forms the backbone of Bitcoin and strengthens it, helping it to become more decentralised. If you have a small budget, mining does not really help with the network since it already has a huge hashrate and a small hashrate does not do anything significant to it in terms of decentralisation.

You can consider running a Bitcoin node in a datacenter or even from your home.

mining makes no sense with that budget imho. but a full node would be a good way to help. you can find more then enough informations here as to how to do it. it depends on the country, but running a node should be no problem with the law. only thing left is the moral concerns. you are not helping drug money. you are helping bitcoin. you can not do anything about drug money using bitcoin and this is even a good thing, since a good currency will make no difference on the user. keep in mind that you are not responsible for the bad things in the world. if you still not comfortable, then you should probably stop using bitcoin altogether, as using bitcoin also means supporting bitcoin in general and thereby also the bad things happening with bitcoin. but this is the same for fiat, so you would need to stop using this as well.

AFAIK, they are suspending droplets that are mining.

I would go for Joe's datacenter since they have a fairly high amount of bandwidth with decent hardware in their dedicated servers. Else, look around lowendbox.com and choose a provider after reading reviews. You would want to choose one with a HIGH amount of diskspace and bandwidth if you want to really help the network.

Depends. Windows consume quite some resources for the GUI. You can run Ubuntu/debian if you follow some tutorial, it isn't very hard to setup.

You have to update the client manually.

Don't know about good companies that will let you run a bitcoin node but for me the best site is your own home Wink about a good tutorial, you can find it here-> https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node#what-is-a-full-node

Should i make a windows or linux installation for bitcoin node.

Up to you, you have both guides at the link above, about windows or linux i suggest to go with linux, but again is up to you....

IMHO #1.b of suspects, Hal Finney is/was S.N.

thank you! so what is the minimum disk space is required to run a node?

+ anyone out there using a company allowing node running for a long time? you can just tell me the company in order to not have any problems.

For now, at least 150GB. As the blockchain size continues to grow, you need to increase it overtime.

I ran my node with Joe's datacenter* at one point and they didn't give a complain. Since it doesn't violate any of the terms in their terms of service, they will not suspend you or do anything with you.

*Planning to running it again soon.

I followed this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582817.msg6374298#msg6374298. After you ssh, follow the pastebin commands.

I'm not sure about how updated it is, it worked well for me quite sometime ago. It is a hassle if you want to update it since it is built from the source code.

Running a node on a vps won't make any positive impact to bitcoin.
If you want to help the bitcoin network just buy $15-25 worth of bitcoin every month and HODL

woot?

If you're truly attempting to help Bitcoin and not just make a profit there's one perfectly easy thing you can do. Buy Bitcoin and spend it. I don't know how you get your money (from the small amount you mention I would assume it's an allowance from your parents). Then the next money you get buy Bitcoin and spend it. If you're working, set aside a percentage of your monthly income for Bitcoin purchases. You are rewarding the businesses that accept Bitcoin, ensuring that they stay in business, and providing an incentive for other businesses to accept Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has enough nodes and mining is now a professional business that requires a massive investment but anyone can shop using Bitcoin with almost no money at all. You would become a member of the most important group of people in the world of Bitcoin that ensure its survival for generations - the Bitcoin users group.

♯ Bitcoin has enough nodes ♯

I do not agree with this part. We always need more nodes. Bitcoin nodes are like the back-bone of bitcoin network and we always need Full Nodes that are always on, have at least 8 connections and have a high-bandwidth connection to the Internet.

Dude, get a grip. You're talking to someone that only has fifteen to twenty five dollars to spend helping Bitcoin. The last time I ran a computer 24/7 to run a full node it cost me more than 35 a month on electricity alone, not to mention the wear and tear on the equipment. The help should the match the person.

I can only agree to what others here have written here:
The best way to support bitcoin with 25 dollars is to get bitcoin for 25 dollars.
Then spent it, or maybe even trade with it.

What just came up my mind: Buy with your bitcoins a shirt with advertisement for bitcoin. I'm sure you can get one of these for 25$.

I think you can try namecheap because they are accepting bitcoin i think they can not be the same terms like in digitalocean..
Here is the link to check the price https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/vps.aspx

for me if you want to start a business with bitcoin mining is a good idea than start your own node..

Make crypto as your bank.

tbh i also think it'll be more valuable to stimulate the currency (buying and using) than its network (node or miner) given the budget
