If that explorer holds data in db then its always gonna look like chain is fine. What have you done to the chain? coins dont go poof to everyone just on accident or because they wanted to take a break.

Def no reason for your coins to disappear just because of loss of node connection. Half tempted to install the nix wallet and see what block its at when it initially starts.But so far this is all too sketchy & from the sounds of it dev took coin offline

Someone go to there datafolder and delete everything except wallet.dat and restart wallet please. after its done syncing go to debug console and type getinfo and post block count please. I would like to know what block you sync to. Even dev is on 1407. no reason for anyones coins to have disappeared unless those blocks no longer exist.
