No but seriously though, pretty much every bitcoin site is being DDoS'd right now, what's up with that?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

No but seriously though, pretty much every bitcoin site is being DDoS'd right now, what's up with that?

At the time that you wrote that the http://www.bitcoin.org site was up and the sites it links to were up as well.  Others that were sampled were fine too:

This forum is up but is responding sluggishly.   I'm assuming that since you were able to post using the forum, it was at least functional for you.

Can you respond more specifically which site you were referring to?

Many hours ago, there were more significant problems but those had subsided by the time you had reported.

Earlier throughout today (not so much right now) I have been getting connection problems with multiple sites. Perhaps they were not DDoS-related and they were a problem on my side, but here:

-This forum
-MtGox
-BitcoinWatch
-Swepool
-Deepbit

And earlier throughout this week:
-All the above sites
-Slush
-SimpleCoin
-BTC Guild
